speakers

Hey, my friend has a 2001 black Corvette that he wants speakers for...what do yall think will sound the best? I told him I would ask this forum and get back to him about it.

well component speakers?? mb quart i think, i have had them in two of my cars, and they are crystal clear! they are in the rear of my gts now, where the old subs used to be, i am not sure how much of a difference it makes actually, but i like to think it helps! xtant makes good amps to help the sound a little. i know the vette needs as much help as it can get...

true, the stock system is rather lame, bass is horrible in it thats why he is wanting some components, some subs and a good amp. Any suggestions welcome.

JL Audio is good. I opted for Image Dynamic subs and componets.

The C5 has two little compartments that are of perfect size for two 8" subs...I would recommend sealing them off and going Kicker SoloBaric 8" subs (not the square ones, they suck)...Kicker also makes excellent mids and highs to match...and for nice, clean, space saving power...an Alpine MRV-F540 four channel amp...Channels one and two on the mids and highs, and bridge channels three and four on the subs...A nice head unit would be the Alpine IVA-C801 Navigation/CD/Tuner (High End LCD, DVD and CD Changer ready...$1300) or a more resonably priced head unit would be the Alpine CDA-7995 MP3/CD/XM PLAYER (plays MP3's...$350)...

This would not be a 145 db system...but there is no doubt that it would be very cost effective and flat out ROCK!!!

That's pretty sweet Jeff, I always wondered how people carried stuff around with sub boxes and all that crap stuffed in the back. Plus keeping it out of view diminishes the likliness that your car will get scouted for theft.

Components I use Boston Acoustics Z6. They are somewhat new to the market. A little pricey at $1,000 per pair. But I feel they are well worth the $.

For Subs I use Boston Acoustics again. Pro Series. Not too bad in price and work well without being too boomie. Nice tight bass response.

I go for sq and not the wow factor. No rap crap EVER is played in my cars. Mostly heavy metal, Priest, Iron Maiden, Kiss, Disturbed, Deep Purple.
