Ford question for the Ford guys and Kenne Belle Superchargers
Ummmm where can you get these? He doesn't even have his own webpage?
With t he Spec Racer the only system that will work will be a roots type system. REASON: the extra welded support in the chassis is where a Paxton or Vortec would go. Cutting into the extra suppor ti snot an option and if priced right I might just go the supercharger route intead of having the Trick Flow heads worked over.
I figure some of you have to be Ford guys? I mean before the Viper what the hell was there?

Thanks, I just found it. Man he is pricey when compared to the other guys???? Why $1K more? How much more HP doe shis put out vs the Paxton and Vortecs?

It was just a thought but yes I have heard they do tend to heat up. I will probably just stick to the old fashioned way of having the heads worked over.
Single Turbo? Now it is apparent that I am no engine expert but I did see a 5.0 set up a while back with a single turbo. Does the single turbo have to be tied in to both exhausts or just one? It has been a while and I cannot remember.

I have a digital pic of a Factory 5 set up with the dual Turbos. Cool how the filters run out front liek fangs or snouts. I never got the HP on it but from what heard it was migthy fast.
I am just pondering ideas at this point.

Re: Ford question for the Ford guys and Kenne Belle Superchargers
I got about two weeks into the build right before I found my current property and moved outside of town. The build is on hold until I sell my other house. I don't own a digital camera so no digital pics. It looks more like a dune buggy right now with the body off. So far I have the rearend on (stock gears 2.73), 3 link, coil overs front and back, converted the rear to disc brakes and the Flaming River Steering rack and adjsutible upper control arms. I haven't got the ROH Sniper Rims yet so to move it around I got some old Mustang turbines on so I can roll it in and out of the garage. It is pretty cool building a racing car from the ground up.
Chances are I will not be going the supercharger route due to I am setting it up more for road course racing than drag. Right now I have a basic 302 with the trick flow twisted heads, Ford E303 cam, 24 lbs injectors, 65 mm throttle body, 75 mm mass air. I took off the GT-40 upper and lower and the 1.6 roller rockers off and sold them in about 15 minutes on line on the Cobra forum.
I will be going with the Holley Systemax II upper and lower and 1.7 roller rockers and will be having the Trick Flow heads worked over, port polished cc'd, whatever the crap they call it and the most radical cam that Trick Flow offers and a Tremec. The goal is to get 400 hp and a 10 second car on the 1/4 mile straight. It won't be set up for drag but the lightweight still allows me to be a contender if need be and the 3 link allwos me to adjust the pinion angle and the lowers have a seperate setting which allwos me to adjust for better launches if need be.
It really isn't much to look at right now because none of the aluminum lanels are riveted on ect. When I get more done I will borrow a digital camera and snap a few shots. It is funny to see my neighbors go buy and do double takes when they see the body out there or just stop in the road and stare.
p.s. I will also be putting 4 into 4 straight pipes on there and will be shortening the side pipes. No glass pack or what ever the hell is in the side pipes. Just straight pipes. Should be loud, not that Fakey Do Cobras are not loud to begin with. The goal is to make a bird $hit on itself across the yard when I start it. Granted it will look a little different than the Shelby Cobra with the shorter side pipes, plus side, no more burns and louder and my favorite more obnoxous and less civilized.

I don't know much here, but a young guy with a 03 Cobra belongs to my son's Website (not his but the Club-F.A.S.T.(F Bodies of St. Louis), they just had a meeting, Sunday. Anyway, he put on the Kenne Bell and some other mods. If, I remember correct it ran Mid 11's, took off all that stuff and went to twin turbo's, refuses to let a look see under the hood. After their get together, yesterday, he raced the fastest all motor Z-28 in the area, which runs low 11's and ran off hide from him. It is felt he now runs Mid 10's.
I will let my son post after he gets off work under my name with more info.

When you said SPEC racer, are you talking the class or just the FactoryFive chassis called SPEC?
I'd be astonished if the NASA SPEC Cobra class gave you the freedom of blowers/turbos, if you were planning on getting into that. Haven't looked at the rules, though, so I could be wrong.
KB makes great blowers. As for a grand more than comparable, what kits are you looking at? They seem to be priced about right to me...?

Re: Ford question for the Ford guys and Kenne Belle Superchargers
I am building a Factory 5 Spec Racer but not to the rules of the Spec Series set up for the Factory 5's. Reality is the Northwest Spec Series does not run in AZ and mostly in Northern California and a couple of races in Nevada. Driving to Texas to race with those guys is not an option as well. So I have since thrown building it to stock specs to the wind.
I am leaning more towards stroking the 302 to a 347. In fact I will need to get in touch with Flynn.

Re: Ford question for the Ford guys and Kenne Belle Superchargers
There are 3-5 03 Cobra guys that swapped their eaton to a kenny bell and are now running 9's, but they have done some other stuff. They still a stock bottom end though... Most 03 owners that have a KB are running 10's...
