I was thinking.... How cool would it be if there was a Viperalley sticker on PMUM's or one of the McCann's CC's. I obviously dont know anything about how sponsorships or any of that stuff goes, but I bet that there is A LOT of people on here that wouldn't mind throwing in some dough to help PMUM. Sorry if this is a rediculous idea that could never happen. Just kinda crossed my mind while I was in class earlier today.
I guess my point is more of helping out PMUM. Sticker or no sticker, I think it's awesome what he is doing and would HATE to see him miss races because the funds aren't there. Like I said, if this is a stupid idea, somebody just say so and the thread can die.
PMUM and the McCann's are short on money like Bill Gates is short on money. The only other decals you see going on the car will likely be from a major sponsor (of which I've been chasing one down for him today) who will pony up the jack to bring parity to the factory team level of prep/R&D/travel.
I don't want to speak for Paul, but he's certainly not in dire financial straits. Peter Brock, the author of that Low Bux PMUM article, was just out at Buttonwillow throwing around Paul's ACR and 550 Maranello not too long ago during a private track day.
Honestly, in talking with Paul yesterday, we figured it was cheaper for him to go to Road Atlanta and race with World Challenge than it was to do Viper Days event in Fort Worth the same weekend.
Guys, PMUM and the McCann's don't even hang out here, but the Woodhouse boys do. Talk to Bill Pemberton and see if Bob Woodhouse would be interested in a little community support. Afterall, he just had to shell out tens of thousands of dollars to unbend his car and buy some new panels! Not that Bob doesn't bring Warren Buffett resources to the table through one of the most epic dealership groups in the nation, they'd might be more willing to work within a community they've enjoyed and supported for years.
