Very sad to see, but he drove that right and you could see and hear him getting out of the throttle. I hope he is okay, but he was going at some speed when he hit and at the very least he got smacked around.
Yeah I saw that too, I shot Sal an email this morning but haven't heard back yet. Hope all is well, hard to tell from the video but it didn't look too horrible (if that's possible at those speeds)
Yes, unfortunately that did happen to me. First time I've ever cracked up any of my cars and I was very disheartened, but I wasn't hurt. Not even sore the next morning so all the safety equipment served their purposes.
It wasn't too bad and I saw it coming so I had the wheel turned and was on the brakes which kept me from going into the wall more directly. I was more pissed off than scared because I should've known better, but I was trying to get a decent data log and the track just wasn't there to try that.
The right front wheel took the blunt of the hit. Basically it messed up the front bumper cover, front right wheel, front right headlight, the front right corner of the hood near the headlight and brushed the rear quarter panel. I put the car on a frame machine and it was checked with laser measurements and everything is still straight, so the damage was cosmetic. I'm taking this oppurtunity to repaint the whole car using a high end painter because I can't handle mismatched panels.
I guess it was bound to happen some day considering the number of runs I put on the car and the power level. I will say this new setup is pretty wicked. Chalking it up as another learning experience. I should be back at the track in the next 2 weeks.

Good to see you are ok Sal! Get back in the saddle and make it happen! The car looked like it was pulling like a fuckin freight train!! Looks good!!! Get it painted and get back out there! I along with many others are excited to see you pushing the enveploe!! Just a minor setback!!! GOOD LUCK!!
Damn this is very sad to see. This is definitely my favorite TT Viper out there with an owner with some serious cajones. It's great to hear that you weren't hurt, Sal. That impact could have been a whole lot worse and it is good that you grazed the wall instead of going into it head on.

And this is why we all adore you man. You have the heart of a racer that so many other people with dyno queens only wish they had. Looking forward to seeing the car run again.
Also, since you are getting the entire car repainted, are you going with a super cool paint scheme for this or are you sticking with black for that beast?
Glad to hear everything is well Sal. I saw the video and figured it was only a matter of time till you had something to say. Way to go on getting back in the saddle. Whats your best time on the new set up?
