Ok, here is the lead column today - and then I will make my "personal" observations:
What you need to know about the fall campaign
By Jill Lawrence and Susan Page, USA TODAY
WASHINGTON — Only 139 days until the presidential primary season begins. Do you know how your favorite candidate is doing?
The 2004 campaign for the White House, believe it or not, enters flat-out mode this fall. With nine Democrats piling on each other and President Bush, it's going to be chaotic and confusing. But there are ways to sort things out.
First, it's important to know who and what to ignore. For instance: Al Gore and Hillary Clinton. Give it up, diehards; political analysts believe them when they say they're not running. Then there's the Republican money advantage. Republicans almost always have more money than Democrats, but they don't always win.
National polls are another misleading indicator. Breathless news stories on who's up and who's down in such polls make political pros roll their eyes. "It's good for fund raising, but what matters now is what's happening on the ground in Iowa and New Hampshire," says Donna Brazile, who ran Gore's presidential campaign in 2000. Those states are the first two battlegrounds for Democrats. Blah Blah Blah - they went on to tote Clinton's backing will be critical - what outstanding efforts each of the demos are doing, etc...
Ok, now for a few of my "personal" points for ol' Jill and Suzy:
1.)Yes I do know what my favorite candidate is doing – don’t imply that the entire country is confused because your nine dwarfs don’t have a clue or an idea.
2.)“Flat-out mode” – what is that exactly – that your party still has a fleeing chance in hell to not hit the ground as hard as you think they will? Um, haven’t you had time with your party to get their shit together missy?
3.)“Chaotic and Confusing” – um, no again. Just because you have zero clue what to stand up for – you shouldn’t make it sound like everything is in chaos – just your side of the camp...
4.)“There is a Republican money advantage” – are you fucken kidding me? Lets see, on one hand you have the NRA, and the other has the AFL-CIO, NAACP, Labor Unions, Teachers Unions, Tort Lawyers, etc… I recently read a book that lists all the contributions and from whom to each party – you would be amazed at how many more times over the Democratic’s were able to raise – phenomenal. But again, with that old facade, the Republican's are for the Rich – asshat. Don’t also forget Jill and Suzie – 9 out of the top 10 highest paid Senators ARE DEMOCRATIC! Hmmm, but how can that be? I though they were for the "little people"??????
5.)“National Polls” – yeah what about that? What about the fact that the Minneapolis Star Trib has been investigated many times because no matter what the actual numbers are – Democratic positions were always printed with a 7-12% increase above the Republican? Hmmm, national polls you say? Is that kindof like NBC and all the major networks broadcasting the so-called final state-by-state Presidential results up to 1.5 hours too early to influence other states – something like that – is that why you say they are useless? And yes, thank you very much for getting that elusive news from a former Gore-knee-padder. What else would she supposed to say - you bafoons.
6.)Iowa and New Hampshire – yeah, you better be watching those states closely sisters – because when you see how close those states are – then you are going to realize that socialism will not be promoted on your little campaign in 2004. Your two strong-holds are going to be closer than you ever imagined... You are going to get smoked – and sooner or later – like your nine little dwarfs – 2004 is going to be a serious wake-up call for you.
And I will be the first one to post that “democrats won’t be down for breakfast”!
