Taken from another forum. Thats why you change your own oil. You can see Ford Manager looking puzzled as to how to tell the owner the story in the last pic!
So you drop off your cherished Red Ford GT for its scheduled service and a couple days later you get a call from the general manager of the Ford dealership with some pretty grim news!! Well that’s what happened yesterday in South Orange County, CA.
So here’s the story, the owner decides it’s time for the GT’s oil change & service and drops it off at his local Ford Dealer. While at the dealership, one of the lot porters accidentally backs another vehicle a little too close to the GT, scrapping the paint slightly somewhere on the rear part of the car. The employee decides, although no one saw him do it, he would man up, and tell his manager what he had done.
So the manager called the owner with apologies and told him what had happened. He then offered to personally drive the car just down the street, to a body shop that his dealership uses frequently, to have it professionally touched up. The owner, who was pretty cool about the situation agreed.
The manager then drove the GT over to the Body Shop and met with the owner, indicating that he needed the minor scratch repaired to perfection, and requested that the car be taken good care of. He also requested it not be driven, and that when the repairs were completed, he would send for a flat-bed to come get it. The body shop owner told the dealership manager that the GT was in good hands and agreed to get er done!
Now fast forward 2 hours! The body shop owners son who’s in his early 20’s stops by the body shop for a visit and sees the GT sitting there. He’s never seen one up close, so he asks his father if he can sit in it for a closer look. Well his father figures, sure why not and throws him the keys. Then after sitting in it, he asks his dad if he could take it for a quick spin around the block, which again his dad figures, sure why not…
Well now fast forward 20 minutes, and the body shop owner is getting a cell phone call from his son, stating, euhhh, dad,, I’ve got a problem,,,, I crashed the GT!!! So the body shop owner rushes to the scene and sees what’s left of the GT and all the parts scattered all over the highway with his son standing there with a shocked look on his face.
Apparently, the body shop owners son, stopped for the first red signal he came to and when it finally turned green he punched it, then shifted into 2nd, causing the car to break traction and fish tail out of control. After jumping the curb backwards with its left rear wheel, it immediately countered the opposite direction striking a pole with its front end, knocking it down onto the roadway. Nearly a half hour later, the lot porter who first reported the minor incident to his manager at the dealership, happens to be driving by the scene and sees the crunched GT where he hurries back to the dealership to tell his manager.
Unbelievable how stupid some kids my age really are, and even more unbelievable how stupid the Dad is for letting his son take it out. I mean, come on, what goes through his head there?
"Oh yeah, sure son, it's not mine and it's been requested that we take good care of it, but fuck it. We don't need any business anyway, right? Go take it out on the street and see what it can do!"
I'm always super careful if ANYONE lets me drive their car. I don't care if it's a Kia or a Ford GT; I know how pissed I would be if someone got behind the wheel of my car and smacked it up. Always be respectful of other peoples' pride and joy; they probably put in a lot of work for it. Really pisses me off to see some 20 year old punk being disrespectful to the owner and the accelerator.
I would be INFURIATED if I were the owner of that car. Sad to see, that was a really nice GT too.

Thats just sad Just pure ignorance on the bodyshop owners part...Looks like that bodyshop is going to have to fork out some cash as that WILL NOT buff out..

+++ I have always had a huge problem with douchebag parents who buy their children expensive and fast cars. While this isn't exactly the case, it does support my case. If I am worth 100million my kid is still getting a beater.

I would be so furious. One of my conditions would be for me to get a sitdown with the body shop owner and his son. They would forced to listen to whatever the fuck I had to say until I was finished
This type of thing seems to happen all the time , I don't know how many times over the years I have read similar stories. Everybody wants to drive one........
A few years back, I took my stock 05' Mustang GT to the Ford dealer to get a simple door handle part replaced that went out. I set the "Tripometer" and wrote down the mileage when I dropped the car off. The factory repair guy also wrote down the mileage on is little parts list/invoice for the repair.
Went to pick up my car later that day and saw 10 miles added to the clock. First thought was, maybe they took it for a test drive, to make sure everything checks out, but there were no engine parts added or worked on, it was STRICTLY cosmetic work.
So I called the part / shop repair manager over and told him what's up. He said he didn't know wht there were 10 miled added, so he got out his little log invoice to confirm and I was right. I bitched him out!!! I told him my car was new and now I have to worry about some friggin parts kid driving my car out to lunch, tearing it up, risking part failure AFTER my warranty goes out, all because of some punk ass kids joy ride at a respectable dealership. I got furious thinking more about the long term effects of some kids joy ride.
He saw how upset I was and tried to calm me down by offering me to come in for a FREE oil change.
I said What tha...????? You want me to bring my car BACK in to a crap shop where I can't trust anyone for a measily little oil change???? I asked him if he was serious??? I told him that this was the EXACT reason I do all the work on my car myself! What a friggin JOKE dealerships are. Now I'm pissed all over again. What the heck was this thread about anyways....
