And just in time for Dove season..... Tammie and I actually spent our first night out there last night and I don't mind telling you that it was pretty nice waking up to the easterly view... Went on bird and deer recon just by jumping on the 4-wheeler and mashing the gas.....
Finishing the lodge in time for dove season was a pretty arduous task and Tammie and I dang happy that that part of the work is over with!
Yeeha!

These pictures explain why my post count is down and my wallet is a little thinner than it was last spring. We'll spend the holiday weekend out there and of course Monday is opening day of dove season. My recon reports have been anywhere from 300 to 1000 birds in the sunflower patches and around the tanks. If the cold front doesn't drive the local birds away this weekend, Monday should be plenty of fun!
Y'all have a great holiday weekend. I know we intend to!
I don't think that tree will hold a hammock, though. Might need to find some shade to kick back under with some lemonade.
Beauty! I'll be up there this weekend to do some recreational trespassing ... invited or not. I'm sick and tired of the city. Need to get out and go all 'neck for a while. If you find some scruffy guy with a bucket of KFC sleeping under your tractor, don't shoot ... it's just me.
Billllllllllberry! It is not to late to change your evil ways. Turn back! Turn back before it is too late!
Hey, can I build a nest in your storage shed?
You bet you can build a nest in the pole shed. In fact, invite all your friends. I'll bring the 12 gauge and skillet.

Don't worry, we won't shoot but if I find you, you'll be put to work. Seriously, I have a trim project on the inside that I would like your help with in the not to distant future. (and you thought you had gotten out of it, ha!)

I'm there. Just got me a sweet new finish nailer I'll bring up.
Eric, no offense here but, you are not related to anyone who played on Tool Time? Just wanting to make sure Paul's new abode stays in the condition it's in.

Cool... I'll call you on the phone in the next week or so and we can discuss details. A finish nailer will be required for what I have in mind so your timing is excellent! So was mine apparently.
