Been trying to gain some intelligence on the SVT Cobra by cruising Mustang boards. I've got to say that it's a painful experience. While a SVT '03 Cobra with a $1,000 dollars of mods may beat a stock Viper, the typical Mustang driver wouldn't generate the mental bandwidth of the typical Viper owner even with a $1,000 worth of meth cranking his dying synapses to meltdown speed. It's freaking painful to lurk around there hoping to glean some useful info--like looking for a piece of hay in a stack of needles. I
Im with you, the car isnt bad, especially for the money. The only thing I dont like are the stock wheels. Theres a guy that works with me that has a black one, NICE!! I dont know what he has done to it, but I know theres a few mods in there. The posts that they make on thier forums, are they just stupid things?
Well, the problem is that they seem to lump all SVT vehicles together. So, you get all walks of SVT life, including older, cheaper cars., probably owned by teenagers. The guys who post "I just bought a '03 Cobra" tend to be reasonably articulate.
It seems to me with a more reasonable price tag, you garner younger drivers which reflect your dicovery. The SVT Cobra is a beautiful car on the road IMO, and can be made a straight line force to reckon with. Most have trouble hooking, the expediture of $1,200.00 generates an incredible amount of torque. The factory blower can be replaced with an after-market Kenne Bell blower which produces roughy 650 rwhp. I've seen 10 sec. video of the same car.
This one ran in with us in OTC this year. It had the big Kenne Bell blower on it and supposedly made over 600hp. They are great cars to roll around town and have fun with. I wouldn't get a convertible because that chassis sucks balls and that car can make some torque. Lower it and put some Cobra R wheels on it.
How come I haven't had an influx of pubescent Mustang owners slamming me yet?
So those saying don't get a convertible--this won't ever be a tracked car. It will just be a classic pony car--the kind you drive around and have fun with, but never do any serious racing. Would that change your mind? Is the body flex that bad?
What bothers me are the posts. The posts are largely inane. I'm fine with the car--it's not bad for the money.
I got banned from there recently. Tried to stir up some crap and they were the shit-all deadest, dumbest most weak-kneed slack-jawed faggots I've ever come up against. It was like wailing on a pillow.

The SVT forum ... I can't remember it's name, maybe Cliffy can. He was over there with me flinging feces with both hands trying to wake those baboons up.

Eric summed it up well. Those tinkerbells were about as much fun as dry humping the rimple-skinned leg of an 80 year old virgin nun. I do remember the name if you want to have yourself a visit over there:
That's the link to the forums. Enjoy if you decide to stop by. I know I sure as hell found my time there anything but enjoyable. It was like prodding a corpse for conversation.

That's nothing, you should go over and visit the Supra forums. www.supraforums.com. I got banned from there twice. Seems they don't like it when some guy says good things about Vipers. They even deleted some of my posts and kept locking out threads I started that had meaningful, intelligent discussions about Vipers vs. Supras. Pussies.
Yes, I work for Ford. I tell you what, if you want to use my employee discount let me know as I have one "X" plan discount left for the year that I can give to anyone. Should save you a few thousand. I also saw a slightly used 2003 Cobra with only a few thousand miles on it at the employee resale lot today for around $27,000 I think.
