Anyone here into graphics design with Adobe Illustrator or the like?
I need to do up a box layout for some custom boxes we're getting printed. The guy I was working with isn't really into the graphics side, so his graphics have been somewhat lame
I have a company I need to submit artwork to for printing on a box. I am looking for a very simple design, since the box will be used for multiple products so no product specific stuff on there.
I was hoping someone might be a graphics person who has some experience with Illustrator or something like it. I think what I need is small potatoes for a design firm, but might be worth a few bucks to someone as a side project.
Anyone into that or knows someone good?

Our company sells "high tech" electronics stuff for automotive use, so I was thinking the black background and either flames or maybe a grid (like 1" squares made into a grid) maybe with some sort of "Tron" texture or look to the grid, and have it fade out somewhere or something. I dunno... just something that looks cool and I am 99% sure I want the background dark colored.
The only text I would want on the box would be...
-company name
-"made in USA"
-website
-maybe phone #, not sure
-maybe a general disclaimer about "read all instructions before use"
-our UPC code
What do ya think?

I'd attempt it if I could get my copy of illustrator to work. I think the checkered flag one is cool, probably cheaper too because there wouldn't be so many colors to print.
If I were going to design it I would do a waving checkered flag with your company name or logo on it and have it fade out at the end of the flag. Then stick your website in clean, bold spaced text at the bottom of the sides of the box.

As for the graffic design, most end up making business cards at Kinkos or Alphagraphics. To make the real money you have to go with the big firms in places like New York, Chicago or California. This was a problem since I really do not liek people or big cities, I opted out. That dream dies along with the dream of becoming an artist. There is a dream and there is reality, i picked a path that runs in the middle. I still am able to do my art and still pay for the things I want. As for the ego of wanting to become famous, the reality is I do my art or style because I love to, not because I want to get paid or known so no more ego after I realized that. I did have an opportunity to show one of my works in a studio in Scottsdale, but I blew it (early 20's, drinking and being stupid I lost the piece in a bet to my best friend. Part of the bet was the piece would be destroyed. I though for sure I could beat him bouncing that quarter into a shot glass) All I had was a photo of it and I could not reproduce it again...I TRIED. It took me 3 months to make it the first time and it was a large pastel picture that I soley did with my finger tips. I would take the pastel bar and rub the color on my finger tips then apply the pastel directly from my finger tips to the paper. It was a labor of love and to this day cannot believe that I bet it over a stupid shot glass game?????

Thanks guys - I have someone who is going to take a stab at it, but he's not too bright so it might not work Just joking - I'll keep ya posted.
