I'm headed out to the Area to thrash 6 or 7 vettes. :bonk: I'll file a report upon my return.

Put the wood to 'em Biggie. Leave 'em in a mesquite filled ditch beside the track, throw them a roll of toilet paper and shout - "Next town's 50 miles thataway."
We'll find their sun bleached bones next time we're out there.

Here's all that's left of the roadrunner I hit at 150 mph +. He hit square in the center of the bra then spun around and some boney appendage blew the huge flak hole you see in the bra on the driver's side. Note the feathers on the ground in front of the car. That's exactly where they fell off when I pulled up and parked. I saved the feather that I'm holding in the pic.
If only the coyote had driven a Viper he'd have got some.

The Viper would just ingest a poodle through the intake and blow fuzz out the exhaust. My car would probably make an extra 150 HP on poodle squeeze.
I've told that story of your's,of how the roadrunner was swept up into the low pressure vortex at the rear of your car.And then he ended up resting ON the top of the back bumper and stayed there untill you slowed down.Wierd thing's happen at 150 plus.

I didn't even realize he was on my back bumper until after I'd taken those pics.
So I got out there just after TexasLegend had taken them on a parade lap of the El Camino road course. They were lining up in twos to take to the 9 mile high speed oval. There were:
2 Vipers - Mine and TL's red '00 GTS
2 C5 verts (One claims he did 174 on the oval )
1 c5
1 c4
1 ZR1
1 Z06
1 Porsche 911
1 F body camaro of some sort...
All they really wanted to do was buzz around the oval. I guess about 6 of them took one more lap around the road course, but I stayed there exclusively. My first run to get reacquainted was 7 minutes 8 seconds (a little over 9 miles). My next lap I stopped several times to move cones off of the track (looked like red shopping cart had been there). My third lap I got pretty aggressive but ended up with a worse time since I got sideways three times and recovery/caution cost me. The track was really dusty and gravel-y, didn't feel nearly as grippy as the other times we'd been out there (Eric, Schuey, Chuck, Jon McG., Dean, Paul). I was more than a bit disappointed. My 4th run was better but at 7.10 not much better than the first. The last run I took Johnny Molina with me who is on the economic development board so I took it pretty easy. I made it there from my house in 1 hour and 10 minutes (100 miles), and stayed for 2 hours.
The vette guys were very nice but got the biggest thrill from going as fast as they liked with no ticket worries. They couldn't have cared less about the road course.
Oh, and Eric... I guess the whole bunch got stopped just outside the gate by the Reeves County Sherriff, with Gari leading the way. He wanted to know who owned the facility and how we got permission to access it. no tickets...
I wish everyone could come check that place out...
Wish I could have made it, Bigs. However, I spent several more hours cleaning the garage and got it to where I could at least park 2 cars on the concrete again. I couldn't find anything obvious to account for the car's poor performance. Must be dirty injectors and/or stiff rear wheel bearings. I just had all the u-joints redone because several of the caps were spinning in the yokes.
