Could anyone recommend a sound card for say $125 or less that I could use for my Boston Acoustics surround system? It is a 4.1 system, 2 fronts, 2 surround, and a sub.
I will use it mostly for music and some driving games. Not for movies or videos if that makes a difference.
Please in simple English because I am simple when it comes to these things.
I have a sound blaster live 5.1 platinum in my machine at home
The front plate I refered to has input for MIDI devices and outputs as well. This is NOT required to have sound, but it's handy for mixing. The plate fit's in one of your slots where a CD rom would usualy go (if you have any free).
You do not need the front pannel really, but the full specs on what cards may interest you are here:
1 sound card will do everything you want to do (and more). If your into good sound and response from game environments, soundblaster all the way man. You can get a 5.1 card for like 50 bucks these days. They have 6.1 cards out now, so if you feel like you just need a 6 chan system, go for it (but you need 6.1 speakers).
Not yet. My winter layoff turned into loss of job. That and the ricers who want to buy it have big eyes and empty pockets. I had it sold but one kids father would not give him all of the money. Must be nice to have parents who will give you cash.
Short version of what happened-
I was the GM/ service manager of a lawn and garden center. I did everything except write the paychecks.
I love working with my hands so I would always be in the shop working on the comm. machines along with everything else.
The owner is getting divorced and is running the place into the ground without me so the soon to be ex gets nothing.
So this puts me back a little, will have new job soon as the weather warms up. But Viper ownership is on hold.
Sorry to hear that Jerome. Hopefully you'll find a job soon.
Here in "silly valley" there are so much unemployment it's scary. People are being let go everywhere. The SV charity ball has closed down after 15 years in operation.
