...for now offering "fag" classes in universities... A couple months ago - several people on here wondered why anyone could be upset with the recent supreme ruling about legalized sausage smoking...
Let me ask you this - how many shows on tv deal with homos or carpet-munchers - half? All it simply means is that a limited minority group is being thrust upon the American people to be taught as "normal accepting" behavior... Thanks lefties - will be interesting to see how far you take this... Here is yet another example of how THEY want us to not judge any person, animal or molecule:
'How to be Gay' course draws fire at Michigan
By George Archibald
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
A course called "How to be Gay: Male Homosexuality and Initiation," scheduled this fall, has reignited a culture war at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
A family-values lobbyist is leading public opposition to the self-proclaimed "uncompromising political militancy" of the professor who teaches "lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender."
The lobbyist, Gary Glenn, says professor David M. Halperin and the university "are guilty of perpetrating a fraud against UM students and the people of Michigan [with] propaganda statements about so-called cultural studies and academic freedom" as they promote "queer studies" at taxpayer expense.
Last week, he renewed his crusade against Mr. Halperin's classes, urging Gov. Jennifer M. Granholm, a Democrat, the legislature and the university's Board of Regents to "stop letting homosexual activists use our tax dollars to subsidize this militant political agenda."
The professor says critics misunderstand the "How to be Gay" class.
"It does not teach students to be homosexual," Mr. Halperin says in an interview. "Rather, it examines critically the odd notion that there are right and wrong ways to be gay, that homosexuality is not just a sexual practice or desire but a set of specific tastes in music, movies, and other cultural forms — a notion which is shared by straight and gay people alike.
However, in a course description on the university's Web site, Mr. Halperin says: "Just because you happen to be a gay man doesn't mean that you don't have to learn how to become one. Gay men do some of that learning on their own, but often we learn how to be gay from others."
The course description says students "will examine a number of cultural artifacts and activities" including "camp, diva-worship, drag, muscle culture, taste, style and political activism." Mr. Halperin's class explores "the role that initiation plays in the formation of gay male identity."
"We don't know what [Mr. Halperin] does in the classroom," the state AFA president says in an interview. "It is outrageous that Michigan taxpayers are forced to pay for a class whose stated purpose is to 'experiment' with the 'initiation' of young men into a self-destructive homosexual lifestyle."
Mr. Glenn notes that Mr. Halperin has boasted in print about his success in advancing a homosexual agenda.
I heard that Davis in California is courting the gay population by supporting gay marriages in an effort to keep his job (as well as supporting ID cards for illegals). Is that what this is about now - buying gay votes? Just because the courts strike down a law on blowjobs now everyone wants to embrace the gay lifestyle? WTF?
I hear ya Packet - it is becoming more and more evident that people's agendas are trumping morality... Last night - flicking through the channels - I come across a show on MTV called Totally Gay... I flipped past Will & Grace, an interview with Madona - etc... I bet I went by 4 or 5 channels that dealt with gays - why? Why is that? If 5 or 8% of the population has sexual orientation with chimps - would we start seeing the ACLU, PETA and other billion dollar groups volley for that agenda to get more votes - thereby slamming it on every station and saying it is "normal"?
What urks me about the story above is that public education is littered enough with the liberal agenda in regards to the Pledge, quotas for blacks, etc... - and no dodge ball - but the "people's" tax money is being used to promote that agenda - and I am betting that an overwhelming majority of those people would not accept this if put to a vote "by the people"...
But, that is another sticky topic - since they elected their officials... My concern though is that these massive groups, like the ACLU, have a boat load of power - and they will influence these so-called decision makers... I am not sitting in some shelter waiting for a revolution - but I do think that people need to take this country back - hold officials accountable for their decisions and actions - and above all - act on behalf of the people - for the people... Not like managers because they know better than the people... Hopefully this Davis debacle will serve as a wake up call that the people are in control... You mess up - you outta here...
I don't necessarily care about gays, etc... - what I don't like is this lifestyle being forced on me from every direction - and having them almost say - "see, this is normal, now you shouldn't be alarmed, everyone is doing it". It is that part that makes my blood boil...
Par and myself had a good short discussion on a similar topic last week... It is a slippery area - pros and cons on all sides... I'll stick to my side where I don't care to have these topics forced on me from all directions trying to tell me it is "normal"...
I agree 100%. Homosexuality is severely 'wrong yet every single channel you turn to on television says it's 'right. That's bull!!
I agree.
That is why in my house we don't watch much TV anymore.
I tried that a long time ago but it didn't work for me. I mean I love MTV but just last week I saw a show where 2 guys were kissing! They were actually kissing on tv! [image]http://mysmilies.creativesell.net/contrib/dvv/pissed.gif[/image] It was like a cruise for fags only. I wanted to write a letter I was so mad.
They had some women on there last night and their comments about gays on tv was something like - 'well, men love to watch women - and we love to watch gay men - with their sensitive side and their awesome stomach muscles... - it is no different than men wanting to watch two women kiss"...
So, I kinda understand their point, but... That new Christina vid played as well - all about homosexuality - having guys frech kissing close ups, etc...
There ya go - get ready for a Boys Gone Wild on spring break... :repuke:
