...huge fires are burning out of control all around me I woke up this morning to howling winds, weather service put them at a sustained 35-40 mph and gusts to 60-70 mph, the winds were so hard they woke me up at 5:30 am. I laid in bed until 7am and noticed the sun didn't come out, well it turns out the smoke blotted out the sun and the wind blew all the smoke over me.
A second fire ignited 3-4 miles west and is out of control, many freeways are closed, houses have burned, people have died and this is just the start

I'm not in any immediate danger, right now just lotsa smoke for me. The fire in Porter Ranch at the northern end of The San Fernando Valley jumper an 8 lane freeway into the heavily populated Chatsworth area. I feel sorry for those people, right now it's just an inconvenience for me.
I always wonder why pool homes out there don't have gas generators pumping water from the pool onto the home.
The smart people keep a couple hundred feet of 3" firehose and a small gas/diesel sump pump in the garage just for these types of things.
Thought from what I hear, when the fires get crazy no amount of water you spray on it will do a damn thing other than steam you a bit before it incinerates you and the house.
Good luck Ron. The wind woke me up this morning too. I thought we were having an earthquake for a moment. My street was covered with branches and leaves and shit that blew off of the trees.
BTW, reading the title, I thought that someone bumped one of your old Giants threads to give you shit. What the hell happened to the NFC east this weekend?
