It is a load of shit and I barely watch professional sports any longer.
Here is the twist: when people stop watching and stop having their children watch, then this will change.
If you sit down and think about how much of our lives our truly WASTED by watching sports, not playing, but watching... does it really make sense to be a sports fan? IMO, no, it does not.
You could seriously argue that it is bad for your health and does nothing for you as a human being. In many homes, it creates an even larger divide between the husband and wife and/or children. If we "take back" some of our personal time, we will make immediate impact to a better way of life for ourselves.

In my case it's one of the reasons I pretty lost almost all interest in the NFL, NBA or MLB. And I will never pay for anything with those logos attached.
Fans want a winning team, coaches get unemployed unless they have a winning team, owners lose value and income if they don't have a winning team. Sure the NFL says it's a family game and they polish the turd to make it shine but in the end it's a sport played by child like men who use drugs and have always been judged not by their character but by what they bring on game day.
I guess if you don't like it you could start a competing league stocked with shiny faced lads who pass drug tests and politely tackle each other colliding gently as only 180 pounders running 5.4 40's can but I'd probably rather just buy some season NFL tickets than invest in the Titanic of sports leagues.

I don't really watch sports. I was built to play football (tight end / defensive end) yet my dad kept me out of it. I didn't understand it at the time but I am grateful for it now. 35 years old and your body is worse than a 70 year old man's. Rest of your life is spent in pain. No thank you. I value brains over brawn any day of the week.
College sports are the joke to me though. How any one college can have any pride is laughable to me. Most of my family is all about UT and I laugh. Wow, they paid to have better players. 95% of that team is dumber than a sack of rocks. I vote to starting a semi-pro league for all the young morons and then leaving college sports to the students. It is all political. Big money alum will never let that happen
