It was a bad situation....you spend months training to fight an opponent, studying moves, tactics, etc....and then they change the card on you the day of the fight. Bringing in a no-name fighter in place of the man you were suppose to fight.
Thats really gotta fuck with your head. Frank Shamrock even volunteered to fight Kimbo instead of comentating on the fight. Elite XC turned the idea down and brought in the undercard fighter.
I'm not a Kimbo fan at all....but i'll say it does take balls to just up and fight a professional fighter unbenounced to you. He had everything to lose, the opponent....everything to gain. As with most odd fights....it was won off a very weak punch that stunned the favored fighter and then lead to a barage of fists that he couldn't recover from.

No matter how you look at it, neither was ready to fight the other. It was equal for both.
Has Kimbo just done those brawl street fights or has he actually fought someone who could fight in a real match before? He just looked like a street fighter going in way over his head, off balance, and thinking he could punch his way to an easy win.

KIMBO PUT IT OUT THERE (ANYBODY, ANYTIME, ANY PLACE) NOW WITH THAT BEING SAID, (STREET FIGHTERS DONT TRAIN FOR A CERTAIN TYPE OF OPPONENT)WTFI WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE FIGHT, PAID GOOD MONEY FOR OUR SEATS AND THANK GOD THERE WAS A COUPLE OF GOOD FIGHTS BEFORE THE MAIN EVENT, KIMBO IS A STREET FIGHTER AND SHOULD KEEP IT THAT WAY, COOL GUY, VERY FUNNY, BUT NOT CUT OUT FOR MMA OR UFC OR ANY OTHER TYPE OF (MARTIAL ART )STYLE OF FIGHTING.
I still don't see where he got in trouble. Still, have to agree, anyone on any day can get their bean knocked off. This is a prime example of coming in with your head leaning in, the guy pegged him and Kimbo went down.
It is easy to critique and/or judge from the "cheap seats". Going at it in this type of matches, you will get GASSED (no air/breath) in a matter of seconds if you are not in top condition.
