... where are the good places to live near Dallas and Houston. The high tech market in Orlando isn't what it's cracked up to be.
I'm want to live alittle outside the city so I can get a good house for the $$$$ I'm looking for a field job, so it will not matter much where I live as long as I'm within 20-30min of the airport.
grew up in sugarland outside of houston. gotten way over populated. u couldn't pay me to move back. I am referring more to the first colony area. greatwood and further is still ok. woodlands are way over crowded and way over rated.
if u want chill look out in richmond. dad left first colony and moved out there. 13 acres in a neighborhood. real laid back and close to the west park tollway
Also Murphy, Prosper.. Dallas has many very nice areas to offer and IT and the housing market is Nice.. BTw I hate to admit it but AUSTIN tx is Very nice and is one of the highest ranked places to live in Texas...
If I was going to live a little outside of Houston, I would move out to Champions area (290 and 249 area). It is also close to Bush Airport. But there are tons of people living out there now, so the traffic can be bad if you try to make your way to the downtown area.
Or you could move out next to TexRob if you are a baller. (He lives next door to Andy Pettite, so it must be nice.)
1. Do you have kids
2. Do you want public school or private?
3. What do you want to spend?
If you have young kids, and want to close to the airport, then The Woodlands is your best bet, followed by Kingwood. The Woodlands, in particular, has very good public schools. (Use Schooldigger.com for screening).

1.) No kids
3.) I've seen some nice houses in the 250k range. I don't want to go over 300k for a house.
You won't have a problem in that price range if you are outside central Houston. You can buy a very nice house for that amount or less. Unless you are young and hip and urban, then follow the advice above and stick with Woodlands, Kingwood, or Sugarland. If you want to be close to the medical center and still live cheap, you could look at the Silverlake portion of Pearland--but that's a fair haul from Bush Intercontinental.
Although if you can swing Austin, it's a better place to be.
That's about right too,My brother had a 4,000 Sq Ft house built, with a Large Custom pool in the Backyard for 235K,I couldn't Imagine what that would cost in California.
