Well I found what I believe to be a 100% miracle that can't be made up or considered something else.
I have a close friend who has a special needs 4 year old girl who has lots of concerns and something happened recently that everybody should know about since this has been a topic here.
To make a long story short...many parts of her brain were not growing at the same rate at the rest of her body and a cat scan showed a large gap between her brain and scull in many areas.
The Dr's said those areas of her brain were not growing and not going to grow as that part of her brain was basically dead. From what I understand brain cells once damaged..can't regenerate.
Now...the family..being Christian and having a strong faith...had their Church pray for the little girl.
When she went back for another scheduled cat scan..the areas that showed damage before...were healthy and growing with NO gaps between he scull and brain.
The Dr's said it was IMPOSSIBLE for this to happen. They couldn't say anything other than it was nothing short of a miracle. No medication or special treatments were given. All that was done was prayer.
This is something that can't be faked or made up in my book and they have the cat scans to prove it.
now I know some of you may want to rip this apart but from what I have seen and talked with this family...it's looks 100% real to me.
First comment - obviously the doctor is wrong that it's "impossible" for that to happen.
Second comment - why are you continuing to argue this? Seriously, I don't think anyone gives a **** whether you think this is a miracle or not. It really is the same thing as "shoving it down our throat". You have started *most* of the threads about religion or been one of the most involved posters. It was just starting to quiet down!
toby I think that it is wonderfull that this child is better and I wish her and her family nothing but the best.
Having said that why does it have to be a miricle and one that you attribute to their christian faith?? Every religion and culture has its miraculous stories as well. I believe in miricles and I am religious but just because we dont understand something and how it happens does not make it a miricle. If it were a-----(insert religion here)---family and this healing occured would'nt they attribute it to their faith as well??

all good questions...I certainly don't have the answers..I wish I did.
The Dr's said it was IMPOSSIBLE for this to happen.
First off, I am glad she is on the road to recovery, but......
In order for that statement to be true the Dr.s would have to now everything there is to know about the human body and its ability to heal itself. Last I heard there is no such Dr.
Pray if you will............I know I am going to hell anyway.
I am happy that the child is doing better, however, it does seem that any faith uses good fortune as proof of it's validity. There are many other people of different religions that are thanking their "god" for their unexplained good fortune.
well as far as I know and what dr's know...Brain cells do not regenerate in that manner.
I am actually researching this myself because my son has CP.
Every Dr. and every article I have ever read about the brain is that it is an area that can't be repaired or regenerated.
To give you another perspective on this Jerome...it would be like having your hand chopped off and another one would grow back. Its just not possible by the laws of natural world. It's what I call supernatural.

*Mr Biologist steps up* Well actually not impossible.. How do you know that Jerome isn't half salamander eh???? they can grow back full limbs, complete with toes etc.. It's just genetic coding that keeps us from repairing severed limbs.. nothing supernatural about it.. We don't fully understand the bodies repair mechanisms, it's quite possible something was triggered that caused regeneration.. and just using the hand chopped off analogy, it's been shown that some small kids do have regenerative abilities concerning loss of digits etc.. It is just taking the easy road to attribute it to God when we do not understand something.. Sorta like Magic eh? Think what people would have said if they saw a jet fighter go over their heads a couple hundred years ago.. "sign from god" "magic" "supernatural" etc etc etc (fill in the blank)

An example.
The little black kid that was on Ripleys who had half of his head blown off by what was I think a 357 Magnum. The Dr.s said he would not live and if he did he would be a "vegetable". Not only did the kid live but the remaining side of his brain did something else the Dr.s said can't ever happen. It started to "learn" to do what the other side is "programmed" to do. Now the kid is pretty much "normal". It seems that the brain can learn functions from the "other side" and adapt.
This kid has been the subject of a few shows on tv that I have seen including one on some Medical channel I saw on satt.
Life is a mystery.
All I am saying is that Dr.s do not know it all. I don't get involved in the discussions on a persons faith.
If it works for you, great. I am not knocking that at all.
