GAINESVILLE, Ga. (AP)- Nothing will heal a broken heart like $150,000.
That's how much a Hall County jury has ruled Wayne Gibbs owes
his ex-fiancee, RoseMary Shell, for breaking off their engagement.
Shell sued for breach of contract after she left her $81,000-a-year
job in Pensacola, Fla., in 2006 to move to Gainesville, Ga., and be
with her fiancee.
Two months later, Gibbs told her he was having second thoughts.
He broke up with her in March 2007.
Shell now makes $31,000 a year. The jury award equals one year
of her old salary plus bonuses and benefits.
Shell told The Times of Gainesville she is "thrilled.''
Gibbs and his attorney declined comment to the newspaper.
Breach of contract? WHAT? This case is BS! Total and complete BS.
I constantly hear men bitch that they are not "getting any" from their wives. Sooooooo.
Men who get divorced can sue their ex because she stopped putting out during the last XX number of years of the marriage. And the women breach the contract by not honoring their husband.
If this holds up, then the opposite should also be true.
When a woman has second thoughts and breaks up with a guy, we can sue them.
Sounds like a plan
I can just see the news and everything if this holds up. So now if we get engaged and doesn't work out/break it off, we are fucked. And if a woman durring marriage decides to cheat or leave or whatever, we're still the one gets fucked..... . And not getting married doesn't work over that issue anymore, friends of our family were not married but together for 25 years when they broke up, she took him to court and actually won and was treated like basically a divorce b/c of how long they were together
I also heard the bitch lied about her debt which he had paid what she had told him. He then found out it's greater...so if that's true, how the fuck did he loose breach of contract when the consideration was based on false statements.
