The computerized servo controlled engine test rig is programmed to simulate the forces that the engine would experience on the Nordschleife. Engineers measured the g-loads, engine speed and load of a 911 as it assaulted the track, and then fed the data into the computerized test rig. This device not only simulated the rise and fall of engine rpm, but also tipped, rolled and swiveled at top speed to match the G-forces encountered at the track, flinging the engine around like a dog with a chew toy.

turn your sound up. yeah baby.

That was cool as hell. I thought I saw the engine upside down at one point. Is that on the track as well?

Now if the Porsche nuts would just let them drop the rear engined layout and throw the GT2 engine and suspension at the Cayman, they would really have something. Porsche holds back on their cars so much. If they let loose...it would be ugly for everyone else.

It simulates G forces so since the engine is in a fixed position it has to rotate and spin enough to create the same g force of braking from 120mph to for a hairpin turn... which may necessitate the flipping of the engine

I think its pretty awesome that they'd create a real world-esque durability test. Those Germans are some thinkers.
