Buddy of mine had a pet Cougar..that was the coolest fucking Cat. Damn that thing could jump and was strong as shit. Was well behaved too. Think I'll stick to Dogs, lot safer that way!

My opinion is yes, cats are quite intelligent creatures. I grew up with dogs and thought cats were stupid, but after owning them, or them owning me as the truth be told, I have come to really respect their level of intelligence. I have seen interactions with large cats too and same thing-smart as sin. Remember, smart is not "nice", hell one minute on the Alley will teach us that-lol, but anyhow my two cents for what they are worth. Oh yes, the cat smelled them before they recognized them-almost guaranteed :-)
