Well I'm usually a sucker for dropping a million dollars on a steak at a fine retaurant, but I guess there are some better places than what we have here in AZ, which would either be Ruth Chris, Mortons, Capital Grille, or Mastro's.
I still haven't tried Mortons after all these years, but I've heard that it's hit or miss with them.

I actually ate at a Ruth Chris in Indiana for a business meeting. Very nice place, got a steak but was not overly impressed. But I am from west tx, we have pretty good meat around here.

+1
I've had better steak than I was served at Ruth Chris'
When I go visit my folks in Monterey. We usually go to the Whaling Station Restaurant.
Its up the street from Cannery Row,they serve some great steaks.
The best steak I ever had was cooked in my own backyard. Other than that, I actually like Outback steaks.
The crazy thing about outback is I have had the more expensive steaks there but their cheap steak(house special or something) is the best.
Roc your right, the best steak Ive had came right off my grill. Cant beat a fresh cut of meat marinated to perfection. What do you use to marinate your steaks?
I use white wine, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, lime or lemon juice, chopped garlic, onion powder and a little bit of my favorite steak sauce. Marinate at room temp for 1 hour.

Wow, im going to have to try that.
I take a big pan and submerge the steaks in beer halfway. Then I put a medium coat of seasoned meat tendorizer(lawrys if you can find it) on the steak. I let it sit for two hours and then flip the steak and repeat. I like the natural flavor of a steak. This method gives the meat a great flavor while enhancing the natural flavor. Not to mention it nearly pulls apart with a fork.
I have mastered a tri tip finally also. It took a couple of trys but once you get it right......
Its not any kind of high dollar joint but when i was in seaside oregon we went to Doogers, the best steak iv had that i can remember. And it was from a seafood place too.

You know, I have tried all kinds. And the best that I have used is bud light or coors light. I tried dark beers, budweiser, budwieser select, thinking a more potent beer would give more flavor and it doesnt. I think the light beer is what really brings out the steaks natural flavor. Give it a shot and let me know what you think. Remember to put a good amount of the tenderizer on the steak. When you think your putting too much, its just right.

That sounds pretty good. I may try that. I tried a recipe on the back of McCormack's Montreal Steak Seasoning. They said to mix some Olive Oil, Soy Sauce (Kikkoman is best IMHO), and some of their seasoning. Then you marinate for 30-45 minutes and grill. It was absolutely phenomenal. The Kikkoman is very beer-like in its taste, so I can imagine the beer would work great.
