I've got my license plate hinged but it's to move to allow for suspension travel.
Not to hide it from the cops.

Hmmmmm, I might could rig up a wire to retract it at will................

I agree to some point. While I have been guilty of such hooliganism in the past, I don't do it anymore. The major problems are coming from big cities like LA that are warm all year round and have a huge bike scene. They get out on the freeway in packs and wreak havoc on the commuters. With gas prices the way they are bike sales are only going to increase, and so will the amount of inexperienced squid riders wanting to pop wheelies.

That was sarcasm my man. Doing well at a fairly young age has taught me one thing: I can't stand 99.9% of all Police. Some are great I am sure, but I have been run around more than you can possibly imagine over the last 20 years for living well.....and being a smartass to some degree.

Cops only disrespect and harrass people who appear to be poor or who have no credibility. Once I started driving a nice car and got a bit older I noticed I never got fucked with anymore. If a cop pulls over a young person-minority in a 2k car chances he can treat them however he likes and they won't have the resources to do a damn thing about it. No cop is going to talk shit-harass a bussines man driving a mercedes, or anyone who appears to be well off.

It is different down here. Running around in nice/big power cars down here in my twenties going and coming from the office was a bitch. Luckily, I live outside San Antonio and it didn't take too terribly long for them to realize I wasn't an issue. Down in San Antonio was another story. Two full searches, etc...all with no cause, no ticket, just a random "check."

I've never had my car searched, never been breathalized etc. They don't need to find a reason to pull me over, I usually give them a good enough one myself

Brilliant. Just to catch some kid on a bike. Genius. Risk thousands of lives just to catch some dumbass and do what, take his bike and throw him in jail overnight? Yeah, that's worth the risk. Idiots.

They radio for a helicopter backup, but the aircraft is too far away. In only minutes, tonight's outcome is clear: The rider of the agile, 600cc Honda sportbike has outrun them.

Cops are getting smart down here...instead of chasing which leads to a possible fatality, they put in decoy's. They'll get a Dectective on another Crotch Rocket. Since they ride in packs, if they run frm the cops, the Detective just radios in where they'll be later for an arrest.

I've had some fun times in Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Orlando riding bikes. The scene down there is outta control. The new law they have where they confiscate, suspend license for 10 years is BS. I definitely wouldn't pull over if I thought that was gonna happen to me. That law is just going to cause more high speed chases.

I haven't been fucked with in recent years (knock on wood) But earlier in life, the state police and I had quite the relationship. At the time I was 19 with long ass hair and had a Red Dodge Stealth which in 1992 was quite the attention getter.

So I pick this chick up at the micky d's drivethrough. We go on a few dates, then she tells me "I used to date a State Trooper". i'm like O..K, so how long has it been over? "A few months", she said. Well not fucking long enough, this guy was the total control freak. Needless to say my daily commutes were ridden with harrasement and the occasional search.

A few years later she became my first wife. We ended up having a child and all was well. Atleast for a while. Seven years later, she starts secretly fucking the cop, gets pregnant, and our marrage ends.

He's now my sons stepdad. To complicate things further, a few months ago we find out my son has a brain tumor, and now I'm forced to deal with him almost daily. Life really knows how to test a person.
