...yeah our fucking allies who we flew to safety during the no fly period on 9/11 told Bush to fuck off when he asked them to increase oil production on his trip there. Yeah Bush wields a lot of power since China industrialized
Rising gas prices are exacerbating our state of economy. I care about the environment, but I think it's time to tap our own resources while alternative technologies are explored and developed.
If the US cuts back on its own consumption, it will be inconsequential compared to the foreseeability of India and China; they're soon to become enormous polluters and will siphon increasing amounts of the world's natural resources.
The Arab states are all too happy to plunder our economy by driving up oil prices. They (Saudi Arabia and others) might be our allies on paper, but their desires are to impose their will on anything resembling a Western way of life.

Bush was there to be honored by the Saudi's for all he has done for them. It is basically a one way street. Plus Congress now decided not to add any more oil to the strategic reserve until it hits $75 a barrel which will be, uhh, never! That is good thinking in a time when our supply sources are shakey at best.
Once we find alternative fuels they only thing the towelheads will be selling is egg timers since they will be out of suicide bombers.
I was reading an ad in this past Thursday's USA Today that quoted all the Presidents since Nixon in 1973 saying how we will be either using our own oil reserves or using an alternative fuel very shortly.
35 years later and it's still a dead subject, but it sure sounds good and helps these assholes to win elections on bullshit promises.
I should run for office and promise the country that I will find an alternative fuel and wipe out the deficit. That is if I can use Krazys' and Highrollers' combined cash
E85 is a joke! It takes MORE resources to produce ethanol. The prices of grain have risen dramatically because of it, and now there is a shortage of corn. How stupid is that?
Makara we are a nation of oil junkies. The time for change has come. Change is hard since our country is built on the almighty dollar. Corporations want profits at any expense & if the publics health is at risk I am sure they will weigh this in verse the profit to be made.

Very stupid. At least sugar yields a little more energy than what it put into growing it but lobbiests have gotten in bed with corn farmers to really fuck us over. This shit really drives me nuts.
Why don't we just demand that the damned Texans, Oklahomans, and Alaskans increase production ????? Shouldn't we have just a little bit more control there? And if we are too scared of them, what about Canada? They are right next door !!!!! We could fly our bombers right out of our own air bases, and we wouldn't have more than a day or two of shock and awe. Just do it before winter for the sake of our ground forces !

"Those who control the oil control the power"...we have been stockpiling foreign oil for many years for a good reason. However, now is the time for a reality and gut check.
