Time to hit the track again

It appears that the C5 with nitrous that I was running last month at our new track just ran a 10.04. We were both running neck and neck, I won one and he won one. I had stock run craps and he has drag radial. Well, Long story short, he just hit 10.04 on the last track day and I wasn't there. I guess I'll spring for some drag radials and see what the car is capable of. I would be happy with a 10 second pass on stock tires and I guess 9.9 on drag radials. I'm not sure my car will make inspection for 9 sec passes with my safety equipment is in place (roll bar, 6 point belts and so on). Dennis, the track owner is always happy to see me and is reality a cool chap but I guess I'll have to try it and see what happens again. Making a 130 + mph trap speed pass on a stock run craps that are over two years old says a lot for what ART has done for the car. I guess I'll order some street drag radials...any suggestions from the 1/4 mile crews?????

That's a "strip" not a "track"!!!!

A drag "strip" if for going a 1/4 mile, a race "track" is where you road race on a track, with turns

Ya know, I'm not sure. I think the guy does a lot of the work himself but I'll look into it this week. Jason from TXS&P is a great guy or at least he has always treated me well. He handed me my ass once in a TT vette when my SRT10 was stock. Maybe I should give him a call about a rematch in my GTS

Like I said, the vette and I were dead even but neither of us could get traction. I ran a couple of 11.5s @ 131+. I'll repost the link of me running the SRT10 just to show how bad the track was.

There is a helluva' difference between an 11.5 and a 9.9, even if you're going to a DR.
Good luck.

Well yeah...but not impossible. I'm running on a shit track (tires were spinning the whole way) at an altitude density that ranges from 4000 to 5000 feet (track is at 3300). I plan on going to Ennis in the fall and I'll have the car set up for the STRIP. And I was only running the conservative tune with 13 lbs of boost. I'll be going with the aggressive tune and 15 lbs. I also plan on switching back to 3.07 gear for the extra HP since I don't need those high gears anymore.

In the first paragraph and I quote:

" At any given time there are over 325 drag strips operating world-wide"

There's a lot of "ifs" and variables there and they're all probably not going to work in your favor.
I'm just saying, if it went mid-11's, getting it into the 9's is going to take some work. I'm also hoping to get my car there on a DR and I was running over 141 mph and am still a few tenths away.
You're right about the 3.07's...you don't need more gear in a car with that much hp.

To be honest, I was only hoping for a 10 second pass (on stock tires) at my track. As you can see from the conditions from when I raced, there were full blown drag cars that couldn't do it.
