Pit Bull Found in Truck's Engine Bay

May be a repost but I doubt it. saw this on the news this morning.

A guy tried to start his engine and it wouldn't start. After he popped his hood he found a pit bull stuck in the engine compartment, apparently attempting to chew wires.

Click for video: Pit bull gets stuck in truck engine - MSN Video

coming from a pit bull owner I am not surprised at all

oh gawd that is too funny..............I'll have to show it to Rupert (my avatar) later.....

Nah, when eating the truck tires gets too boring, go for the fan belt and radiator hoses. Yummy yummy radiator hoses, chewy on the outside and full of sweet liquid on the inside.

"A pitt stop" funny!

thanks for sharing, plus rep.

My guess is that dog was chasing a cat which ran under the truck. Dog followed at a high rate of speed, whacked his head on the old pan, panicked, and ending up squirming halway up the engine block. Terriers are very determined once they start chasing something....

My theory is that battery thefts in Vacaville will soon be on their way down.

I love the look on its face while its head is poking out of the hood

especially if you have a pit and are familiar with their expressions

This is not surprising at all. The Staffordshire Terrier has long been known to seek out the warmth of automotive engines due to the breed having a hard time regulating their core body temperatures when they are excited. These dogs were a favorite of many of the race teams at the old Goodwood Motor Circuit near Chichester, England. They were used to protect the motor cars in between races and even overnight. Their proclivity to seek the warmth of the race car engines made them excellent as deterrents against the rogue's and thieves of the day. So frequent was their presence in the motor service areas that they came to be called "pit bulls", a name that has stuck to this day. True story.

And I always thought they got their name from being thrown into a "pit" to fight another dog
