Co-worker and his wife murdered.

This morning has been a bad morning here at my job. I only knew him in and around the office, but will always fondly remember that TJ sang THE NATIONAL ANTHEM at all Navy events in the local area (retirements, etc).

TJ (Thomas J) and Cindy Watkins were shot and killed by their 22 year old son early this morning. TJ was a civilian here on Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Georgia and was a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer. Him and his wife have many friends in the local community and they are survived by their daughter.

Husband, Wife Shot, Killed In St. Marys - Georgia News Story - WJXT Jacksonville

Sadly this is just another fine example of how twisted our youth are today. Long story short, this kids parents wanted their child to get a damn job and get on his own two feet. From what all of their friends have indicated, they were always kind to their children.

Well he'll have 30-40 years of his upcoming years to work in the prison yard stamping license plates.

Motive... even though the boy was 22, his Mom and Dad had filed a missing persons report just hours before the shooting. The son had been gone for several days and they had been worried about him.
He shot his Dad three times. Then, he shot his Mom twice. Then he called 911.

Latest information via a local police officer from the 911 call. He shot his Dad three times. Then, while his Mom was on the phone with 911 he turned the gun toward her, she said "I love you" and he shot her twice.
I don't even know what to say, just wow, over a f'n curfew...

Man that rough, sorry for your loss. Over a curfew...Hey, if you didn't like the rules, move out. I can see where a parent would allow their child to live with them, even at age 22 but crap, I don't want to be woken up at 3am when he comes stumbling in after a party. It obvious that he wasn't mentally stable so looking for a logical answer isn't possible. They will be discussing patricide long after he rides the lighting, the Lizzy Borden case comes to mind.

This is what happens when parents don't instill self worth into there kids. They raise them by providing everything for them and not making them earn it. They turn out angry and this is the result.

Well Car24, thank you for your insite... WRONG, but thanks for taking the time.

Turns out that this dipshit was in and out of drugs in recent years and had been out of the house, but TJ and his wife brought him back in to help get him straight.

TJ and his wife were active in the community, church, had loads of friends and are great people. Sometimes kids get screwed up all on their own regardless of what parents do and don't do. The World lost two really good people and the prisons are going to gain just one more twisted drug fuck.

A local couple about 7 miles away was shot by their 20 something son about a month ago... Supposedly he was bipolar and gone off his meds.

Then shortly after that another couple closer to Detroit was shot by their son as the husband sat on the porch, and the wife came out to see what the commotion was.

On my Mom's street a few years back one of the other original owners got killed by their 40ish non working son. He beat the mom,dad and his own dog with a baseball bat (mak style as lightening wasn't available) at 6 in the morning. He then sat on the front porch, smoked a cigarette and called 911.

Hard to fathom...

It has been on hold for a while since they had to give the last one two injections to snuff him out. The govenor has his pen out though and is suppose to be signing some warrants very soon if he hasn't already. Sad thing is most people spend 10+ years on death row which is about 9 years and 364 days too long. We had to switch from the chair to lethal injections after a slight malfunction with the chair. Took too long to fry the guy and so it was deemed cruel and unusual punishment. I thought that's what murdering someone was.

Very sorry for you and your co-workers Cobra.
