OK, how did this guy live?

200 feet...fuck that had to hurt for a long, long time..and why did they think he intentionally jumped off the bridge with the intent of killing the dog? Sound like a stretch to me...and I'm a dog lover.

Yeah I saw that on the news the other night. It looks like the courts are using the dog as a reason to through the book at this guy. Frankly im all for it. They ought to through that dumbass off the bridge again. I hate paying tax dollars to take care of a piece of shit like that.

In all seriousness though, that's awful that he killed a dog. What a dick. How is his face not more smashed up!?

An $800k dog, doing his job, gone...

If he would have killed himself as well - I might feel different - but can't help but wonder that the dog would have probably contributed more to society than this guy ever will...

I was simply amazed the guy lived after the fall (200 feet)

and

Proving intent to murder the dog seems an impossible task. From the video, it looks like he is simply jumping over the edge, attempting to flee. Not a very bright move but I bet he didn't know where he was (considering his intoxicated state). Oh, and I agree it would have been cheaper if he was have gone the way of the Dodo.

At the top of the video:

"The dude lived, but the dog died? This never would've happened to a police cat."

It looks like a disinterested police cat may have been at the scene.
Starting at 0:16, look to the right side of the second parked police car from the bottom. Something small is moving to the left, away from the edge and the action.
