That's always the question! It's the same thing as "Which style is better"...
There's so many variables bro.... It's like any given day, how in shape are they, how big are they (not just in a muscular way but how heavy are they,) when you say dirty what exactaly do you mean... I mean are weapons at hand allowed??? I always look and see the things around me and if they can be used in a fight... I even look at the structures of buildings or sharp edged tables and think about that. Also if I get taken to the ground, I'm gonna bite, scratch, do small chin-na (Chinese joint locking and muscle/sinew tearing) etc, as quickly as I can.... There are things that wrestle/ing and UFC deem illegal but it's go for the gold time on the street or in a self defence situation... So what are the variables?
Some guys are are just naturaly tough som-bitches who can have a bottle broken over there head or get hit with everything you've got.... And they just look at you and smile.
Boxers are used to dealing with getting their "face wet" and dealing with full power situations but wrestlers are as well.
Perhaps the element that the fighters are in will make a difference... Padded mat? Hard concrete street? Alley? Ring? Open space or enclosed confined space?...
LOL I can go on and on about this shit because I love this stuff!
Cheers bro!
In answer to your question...
It depends.
OK Foolie. Suppose each fighter was in the same weight class. All attributes were equal, and both spent the same years training at their respective arts. Put them in the ring (Squared Circle) with MMA rules. No gloves, 3 - 3 minute rounds. To make it interesting, NO SUBMISSIONS, everything else goes.
A close second would be Steven Segal. He would use his opponents momentum to make them explode themselves.... pretty cool trick
it's in the movies guys - they never lost.
He used Aikido in his movies. Very defensive style with a lot of pressure point moves and counters. A lot of my friends take Hapkido, which is similar, except with kicks. In real life, SS would get his ass handed to him, pretty badly, although the stuff looked cool on the screen.
I haven't seen anyone mention Ray 'Boom Boom' Mancini. Certainly not the best but he definitely had his time in the sun. I spent a good deal of the 80's at home on restriction and saw a lot of his fights on tv with my dad ... LOL.

I mess around with some friends here in town that are Tang Shou Do guys and I love their Form of Mind Fist.
I was a student of Hawaiian kenpo with Grandmaster Alfredo Bandalan of the Doce Pares school in San Jose for several years back in the late 80's, before my daughter was born. It was an incredible experience and I would love to regain my long-lost fitness with martial arts once again. *sigh*

Good stuff my Sistah!!!!!!!!
Isn't it cool! It's like a puzzle with no end! We are incredi-able machines, we human beings. I'm amazed at not only the ingenuity of the people that were aware of the way in which the body can play... But of the even deeper levels of self aware-ness and the experience of really and TRUE/ly living within one's own skin.
My sistah M... It's ama-zing.
I know there's some really good people in Austin. I can get you some names and numbers of people who will have some serious cred if you want me to.
On top of it all it'll keep Eric in line....
Those dishes aren't done yet ???
WAAAAAAAATAAAAAAAH !!!
ps.... Get out here to Vegas!!!

Ha! I haven't lost it all. I can still hold my stance and deliver a wicked chop and kick. He's been on the receiving end of it more than once. Never ever underestimate us Hawaiians - fat or not.
I enjoyed stick fighting the most. It's a beautiful form despite it's lethal intent and I could sit and watch the masters go at it for hours.
I think E is too stocky/muscular for martial arts. He's all punch and wrestle and there's nothing dainty about his form. The two of us are pretty amusing to watch spar. Amusing as in "stop it you two before someone gets hurt".
Sorry for the highjack. I'll stop now.

Speaking of fighting dirty, who would win in a fight between a boxer and a wrestler?
A boxer would be able to get in one punch or a partial combination before getting taken down by a wrestler. Unless the boxer gets lucky in the very beginning, the wrestler wins every time.
Maybe not the greatest of all time, but Tyson in his prime would have been a serious threat to any of the others (in their prime). If it would go past 3-4 rounds, pick the other guy.

Do you guys still live near San Jose? Do you guys go to the Viper Club meetings there? I'm just wondering if I've ever met you or Eric there, and didn't even realize it.

I don't know if it is considered the same thing, but when I used to go to exhibitions with my friends, they would have a duel with knives. They would go super fast with a knife no longer then 6". I was absolutely amazed at the precision and speed they would execute these moves without ever hurting each other. It was a totally awesome experience.

We're 10 miles northeast of SJ. Eric doesn't own Vipers any more so nope, you won't find him at any meetings. We have however had some great informal GTG's with a handful of locals who also post here.

They fight with swords and sticks. We only trained with bamboo, however. The blade fighting is crazy!
