The other thread got me thinking about guns and self defense. I think alot of people feel like they could shoot someone if they felt threatened or if their family were threatened, but if you really dig down and think about it, could you do it? Could you take a life? Obviously no one can know 100% for sure until they are faced with that situation but while I have respect for human life, I really don't think I could shed a tear for killing someone who posed a threat to my or my families' life.
If you could bring yourself to end a persons life, do you think it would haunt you or cause emotional problems down the road? Or would you sleep easily knowing you took one more useless fucker out of this world?

In self defense or to protect a loved one, yes, but I'm sure the asshole cops would have a field day on my ass regardless.

You think God would let you go to hell for a justified killing? The same God who lets babies be brutally raped and murdered, who put scum like that on earth, would punish you for ridding his people of a murderer?

What Mike said. In self protection and/or protecting a loved one. I would have to try really fucking hard not to track someone down if they killed or hurt anyone of my close family, especially my wife or daughter. I would honestly have to convince myself not to end someone if I were completely sure they were the one.
I almost killed my wifes mugger.True story.This guy walked in when my wife was 8 months pregnant.I have a chain of Luandromats also.So my wife was checking out one of my stores.Long story short this guy mugs my cashier while my wife walks in.Mind you, she is 8 months pregnant.Well the dick head runs by and pushes my wife down.At this time I was drivign by from my job site. All I know is after the beating this guy took, my hand was broken. I broke his eye socket in 3 different areas, jaw broken, and crushed larnex.I punched him in the throat while he was down. The cops came flying down.They gave me an extra few minutes to fuck him up.After they seen the guys eye popping out of his head, they tackled me softly...

Yes. And no I didn't/don't lose any sleep over it. I've never been one for having a conscience and I suppose that helps in those situations.
