Sad story...mainly for the people the guy left behind. I've never heard of a domestic cat falling from a tree to its death. I love animals but no animal is worth risking a human life to save it.

I had a baby kitten one time that went way up into a large tree by the garage. She cried and cried as we tried to call her and entice her with food and stuff, but to no avail.

So we went to bed and she cried and cried all night long. The next morning we climbed up with a bucket and rope and managed to get her and lower her to the ground.

That very same day she went out to stalk a killdee bird in the pasture and a mare stomped her to death.

So there you are. It's a true story and you can make your own conclusions.

I never understood getting cats out of a tree. They are made to climb trees. If it climbs a tree and doesn't come down, it is for one of two reasons: a) it hates you because cats are hateful creatures or b) it wants your attention because cats are also attention whores. Leave the fucker up there or buy some dogs that can get the cat for you
