Saleen - you worked at Pinks? Do you remember a mean El Camino popping up? That was a guy we knew, and Pinks or producers or whomever wouldn't let him compete b/c the car was too fast even though street legal (s/c'd built 502 with nitrous), even with handicapping no one would step up...douchebags, run whatcha brung.
I watched that show a few times, seemed actually pretty f'n annoying with the bickering back and forth and whiny lil' bitches.
Yeah I used to be on the show for 7 episodes being a technical adviser. The were alot of guys that we turned away because they were too fast. There are a couple of reasons why we did that to help you understand. First of all, Rich is an idiot and the show was ran by HIS rules and went HIS way which was not always the best so sorry that you got sent home, he must have had a bad day because the sun was probably cooking his brain.
The main reason why we wanted to keep cars that were 9 second and higher were for safety reasons since Rich started the race in front of both cars. When you get to the higher horsepower cars, they are a handle to launch and sometimes lose control off the launch and goes into the other lane, if Rich was there, that would be the end of him.
It doesn't make sense because even a 14second car can lose control but they felt that at the speeds of 6-8seconds cars would be too much for him to recover if he were to be hit. I hope that helps you understand why they said you were too fast.
Plus, is it ever really a bad thing about being sent home for being too fast??? lol Take it as a compliment bro! I am here to tell you, there were some badass cars out there.

Wasn't me, was a friend, I just thought it was funny b/c even though his car was fully street legal he got sent hom for being too fast..he was like wtf?!?!?

We can only hope....
That guy was one of the biggest fucktards ever. I swear, I don't know what's worse, him or those shitty Gay and the Curious movies.
The best part of all those shows was when he thought he was such a bad-ass and hopped on that guys bike and went down trying to look cool. Whatever the bike cost, was well worth the price of admission to see that.
The stupid fuckin bracket racing crap is shit. They should have 2 cars that are similar in times run heads up all 3 races. That spotting out cars and giving the other guy the "go" is gayer than AIDS. That's the way people used to street race when I lived in Ohio. I couldn't stand it. Heads-up. Period.

Seriously?
No wonder they did not want Turbo and S/C Vipers competing either. Apparently 9's are too fast for the show. And in that case the Motor Only RT is out too.

That was most of my point, last I remember in a "Pinks" thread on here a Viper that was trying out for the show ran a low 10 or 9 and they said it was "too fast". Their heads would fall off if they saw a mid or low 8 sec pass on a street Viper.
We're on the short end of the stick though because it's lack of TV coverage is what it boils down too. Oh well looks like main stream TV is still stuck in the 11's.

I thought the whole idea of running for slips was to "run what you brung"? The "all out" show is better with all the cars running heads up.....otherwise it's stupid bracket racing.
