I killed two hogs with one slug..................pics
Well , I was at my ranch hunting white tail and was trying to get a shot at a monster buck that I have seen twice for a couple seconds right when it is too dark to hunt. I tossed out some corn by hand near where I had seen him and got into position to try my luck. Then all of a sudden here come a pack of wild hogs in a feeding frenzy vacuming up my corn like a herd of Hoovers on steriods. I decided enough is enough and lined two of the smallest up for a shot. I went for the small hogs due to the fact that I eat what I shoot except for coyotes, rattlers , and some of the nasty huge tough feral hogs. My trusty old FN 30.06 (Fabrique National Belgium )was sporting a new scope and since I had been shooting my 7mm Mag. for the last few years it was good to be shooting the gun that I grew up with again. I managed to get two lined up for a split second and dropped them both in their tracks at about 80 yards , then to top it off they both ended up being clean head shots.

Well, I am glad you smoked their ass. I was hunting last weekend and just at what I call deer:30 a sow and about 8 piglets came out. I wanted to smoke them but I did not want to screw up my hunt. I actually snuck up on their ass and hit them withaa rock to get them gone. Did not see a damn thing after that - probably should have smoked them. We did come back about midnight and we had caught a BIG sow and boar in our trap - they went nighty night all right!
That is so cool man. I have been looking for a good place to go hog hunting in GA but its nothing like TX. I put down a couple bucks earlier this season and the freezer is filled with venison - but damn I'd love to fill with some hog too
I bought a couple rifle kits the other day - one of them is an decomissioned Austrailian FAL L1A1 (need a new receiver)- I'm looking forward to putting it together...how do you like the rifle?

The FN has a Mauser bolt action that is very smooth and it is a very accurate gun. I have killed about 20 deer with it and my father killed at least that many in the 50s and 60s with it. I built the stock from a blank when I was in college because the original cracked in the grip area. I like it better that all my modern guns.
