At midnight I noticed it was getting a little chilly in my house. The damn 3 year old furnace crapped out. It's one of those that you can't manually light, and basically have to call someone out to fix. The guy has been working on it for two hours, leaving twice to get parts. This sucks. It's supposed to get below zero soon. I miss the days when your pilot light went out you put a lighter near where the pilot SHOULD be, lit it and prayed you would not get blown to pieces.
Looks like I need to head out for some electric blankets, it's going to be a cold night at my house!!!!

No fireplace. I'm using a crappy space heater, so by tomorrow, I'll probably have burned my house down!

Did you finally take those training wheels off??

If you have a separate water heater (NYC tenement heat) turn on your shower and run the hot water. The addition of hot humidity will actually heat the house quite a bit. Also cook something! Anything! Heat from the burner/oven will help and you always feel warmer with a full stomach. Actually, another trick is to order in some chinese food... you'll probably sweat like a pig between the msg and the spices.
Always hot as hell after a good hearty (portion for 2) orange or ginger chicken!
