The four suspects will each be charged with murder and additional arrests are possible, said Miami-Dade Police Director Robert Parker. He described Taylor's tragic death as the product of a burglary attempt gone awry.
"They certainly were not looking to go there and kill somebody," Parker said of the suspects. They were looking for cash and assumed Taylor's home was vacant, he said.

More than one has made a confession, Parker said, but he declined to elaborate on what was said.
Police said they found the gun used in the crime.
Parker identified the suspects as Eric Rivera Jr., 17; Charles Wardlow, 18; Jason Mitchell, 19, and Venjah Hunte, 20, all from the Fort Myers area.
Parker said detectives were trying to confirm whether one or more of the suspects had visited Taylor's home previously.
"It seems that it's clear they were the ones involved," said Taylor's former attorney, Richard Sharpstein, who added that he has been in close contact with some investigators.
Taylor's father, Pedro, held a news conference Friday evening outside his home in Perrine before the arrests were announced. He said the family was fortunate to see progress in the investigation. Taylor, the police chief in Florida City, spoke while several Florida City officers guarded his home and relatives provided comfort.
"A lot of times when crimes are committed you get no information," Pedro Taylor said. "At least you guys know something is occurring … I'll let the officers do their jobs, the detectives do their jobs. At the end of the day, it is what it is."
Taylor, a former standout at the University of Miami, was shot in the upper leg early Monday by intruders in his Palmetto Bay home. He was in the bedroom with girlfriend Jackie Garcia and their 1-year-old daughter when the locked door was busted open. Taylor was the only person harmed, the bullet severing his femoral artery.
When police arrived, excessive bleeding forced Taylor to be airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. He never regained consciousness and died the following morning. He was 24.
It was the second time in two weeks his home had been broken into. Taylor, who missed the last two games with a knee injury, was unexpectedly at home to visit a doctor.
"This was a burglary that targeted Sean's home," Sharpstein said. "They didn't expect anyone to be there. He was a wealthy football player who may not be home. Where they got their information is unknown. But this was a targeted house."
Taylor was in his fourth year with the Redskins after being the No. 5 overall pick in the 2004 NFL draft. A budding star, he made the Pro Bowl last season and was leading the Redskins with five interceptions this year. On Friday, his father purchased the suit Taylor will be buried in on Monday.
"You don't prepare for it," Pedro Taylor said. "Anytime you have a child, you expect to go [die] before your child. When this occurred, it makes you feel saddened. But you also know there's a God above."
