Even the democrat leadership are starting to concede (according to todays mercury news) and the election campaign haven't even started yet.

There is a really good article on california politics in this weeks issue of newsweek. Basically what they say is that californians are held political hostages by powerful labor and union groups. Pretty interesting analysis of state politics described as fundamentally dysfunctional.

The City council of Athens, Greece is planning to grant 40 licenses for Brothels to be able to sustain the anticipated increase in demand during next years summer olympics. This has led to furious debate in the EU where some countries are protesting this since they believe it will be a bad thing for the image of europe.

I had no idea that prostitution was legal in greece, it sure surprised me when this hit the news.
