I just heard about this today! They did raid the office and seems to have gone down hill once Shelby left his contract with Unique because they were finding the VIN numbers being scratched off the cars....
From "Joe Bob" in the backroom of Unique, forging Shelby's signature on dash pieces to "title washing". It was funny when the TDOT and FBI hauled their shit off last week....all the way down to the vending machines. Oh and the Unique/Shelby 18 Wheeler getting repoed by Shelby American was icing on the cake.
I would bet those bastardized cars are losing value faster than the Gen 3's.
Always...always....always use a credit card to pay for this kind of work. You could go back and dispute the charges at this point get get your cash back. Yeah, I know, most people don't have a $200K limit on their credit cards but then, most people don't have $200K cars. Crap, if your card limit is only$10K, pay it then pay the balance off that day with a wire transfer to your CC company and then repeat the process the next day. Could be a pain in the ass but I bet some of the people that got ripped off are WISHING they had done this.

Hmmm.. I am not sure how you can dispute the charges that you willingly paid for. It is one thing if someone stole your card or someone used it without you knowledge to pile up the charges. In this case, they have your agreement and signature for the purchase. I am not sure if a CC company would just roll over and remove the charges in this situation. Especially if the $$ is high.
Key thing is to do your research and talk to some previous customers before putting down $$ like this. I guess even then you could get screwed sometimes...
