Yeah I know its an Acer but for 348 bones.........I think I'll go pick one up for me and maybe if I'm feeling nice I'll pick one up for my sister. Not a overall bad deal. A guy at my office got one for 399 when they were doing a back to school special..........seems not too bad, 80Gig HD Wifi, etc. I guess the big thing is its the Celeron M so its not a dual core processor
Also as far as the 4 undisclosed secret gifts. I'd almost put money on one of them being a nice flat panel monitor and a digital camera. Just judging by the past when they've done this.
I've used those ACERs before. They are actually pretty good machines. my only objection to them is that they don't hold up well if you travel with them. the cases are more fragile and less robust than some of the other laptops out there (namely Dell and IBM/Lenovo). But there isn't anything wrong with them.
The DELLs I had are loooong gone. So far I've only had one out of 130 have any problem at all and that was taken care of under warranty. So life is good. I wish I had 130 more though!

One of my 2 local Wal-Marts supposedly will start these sales at 6AM instead of 8AM. The girl who answered the phone for electronics claims that she double-checked with the manager, but who knows.
Although "based on Core 2 Duo architecture", only one core is operational, I believe.
BTW, walmart sucks. Hope to get a picture of you all with the other fat overweight large marge housewifes waiting in line for their douche products and cheap laptops. Normally you have to go to a bowling alley to meet people of that sort. BBW wanting to meet you. I'll pass. and PS, their trailer at the park is on fire, aluminum siding melts quick.
So they were limiting it to 1 per customer and luckily I got the last 1 they had left. They only had 20!!!!! Anyways, its pretty decent..........15.4" screen, vista, 80 gig Hd, 1 gig of ram, wifi, dvd burner
I am definitely going to upgrade tomorrow and get 2 gigs of ram as vista is kind of slow with only 1 gig

I got one of the HD DVD players. They had plenty of laptops(about 100), but since I bought one of JID's laptops I didn't need one. There were some special folk in there, but I don't think I was around them long enough to catch anything.

I sell and fix latops/desktops, and here you will get what you pay for. Hell, pay me a few hundred bucks more and I will get you a much better laptop used that will last. I personally am typing on my T42 with an upgraded 7200 RPM HDD and anyhow, I wouldn't buy one of those laptops for $300. If I showed you guys the differences, you would end up paying $1500 for a KICK ASS laptop that is fast as hell and reliable. Like a car, a laptop or desktop only goes as fast as the slowest link and it generally is NOT the CPU. I culd type for hours on ths subject and I am an expert speaker on the subject locally, but anyhow I hope you get the point not to buy this unless you also own a $300 Yugo beside your Viper.

Now that the prices of virtually everything are going up and up and now that thousands of people are losing their jobs everyday as the US goverment still hands out 10,000+ checks to those people just getting off the boat, I think I will take a boat ride and get in line, I sure could use the money to pay for the gas in my Viper and GTO!
