Yeah, they don't do as much NASCAR bashing as they used to. We've assumed that when Speed became NASCAR's bitch, they were instructed to go easy on the "special" people. David Hobbs was always good for relevant and clever digs. That new American announcer, Rick Debruhl (I'm sure that's misspelled), is fucking useless.
Now... I'm off to watch the race commercial-free.
That was a great race! Don't worry Jerome, I only bitch if someone puts the outcome in the thread title - if I hadn't seen it I wouldn't open the thread.
The race was pretty damn good. I bet Schumacher is frustrated that he isn't running away from the pack like before.
I didn't think Ralph would be able to eek out another win. Ralph isn't a great driver, he's a friggin pansy who whines all the time and he got what he deserved - a bad finish. Villeneuve crashed out on the last lap - that was epic! I loved it. I hate that prick.
I wish Kimi would win some more races ... he deserves it so much. Block-head Blowhard did OK this race... I wish he would just either go die somewhere or would at least get out of F1. I was VERY happy to see Da Matta holding off Kimi for so many laps, considering the shattiness of his car. He could be a real champion some day.
I've been watching F1 for about 17 years. The late 80's and early 90's had a lot of great action between godlike drivers, but the number of car contact incidents made the action rather ugly. Since Senna died, the quality of action declined to rock bottom with the attendant dominance of M. Schumacher.
The 2003 rules package has turned the sport on its ear, and the track action has been stunning! IMO, the British GP today is the most entertaining I've seen since the season-ending race in Australia in '86 where Mansell and Piquet lost out of the lead and Prost won the WC. :thumb:
