I wanna know...
...how come everywhere else in the country the cut of beef is known as a "New York" steak.
Except in New York where they're called "Shell" steaks. Someone explain that to me please

New York steak
Also known as
New York strip steak and
shell steak , this cut of meat comes from the most tender section of beef, the
SHORT LOIN . It's the boneless top loin muscle and is equivalent to a
PORTERHOUSE steak minus tenderloin and bone. Depending on the region, it's also marketed as
Delmonico steak, Kansas City (strip) steak, shell steak, sirloin club steak and
strip steak . This tender cut may be broiled, grilled or sautéed.

My wife and I just stopped at a Golden Corral buffet while traveling last week. It was their "steak nite". They had tons of H UG E porterhouse-type steaks on the gille, cutting them into 1/4's and serving as much as you wanted. Believe it or not....they were excellent!! All for $9.95 per peson.
Now....back to our regular programming.

Denny, With all due respect, anyone that would eat at the Golden Trough would likely think their steaks are excellent.
Not much of an endorsement though...

My kids grew up thinking the real name for Golden Corral was the Gas Palace.

"senior citizen" discount?

You have to be very careful when ordering Ron - there are subtle differences...
