I can't see GM or Ford coming up with the money. So my guess is, if it sells, it will go to one of the Japanese manufacturers. With that said, more than likely, they will restructure management, lay off some workers, close down and move some plants, but overall the product line will stay about the same and quality might even improve some...As for the Viper, I'm not sure it makes much economic sense to keep it, but it's a flagship product and I just can't see the pragmatic Japanese scrapping it.
That is true, but look at what Toyota did to the Supra! Nissan did to the Skyline! Although Nissan is coming out with a new skyline, they left it for how many years. American companies do the same, Camaro and the Challenger. I hope they keep the Viper.
I read a statement from GM somewhere that the Corvette line did not start to make a profit for GM until the mid 1990's but since it was their flagship vehicle, they kept making them. I can't imagine any company coming in and scrapping the Viper program. Way to many products sell because of it, SRT this and SRT that. If they did stop, the Viper would go way up in value (supply and demand). Try buying a used Supra!
