I had heard that she had made a comment to someone that a whitey was stuck in her windshield (or something to that effect). Shouldn't that have been tried for a hate crime?

This is a case where I'd be mad as hell if I had to pay for her room and board for the next 20 years when electricity, rope, bullets, lethal injection, etc. is so much more cost effective and would help balance the state's budget.
Did anyone see dateline a few days ago? They had a followup on that dude Andrew Luster who raped three girls after drugging them. He was sentenced to 120 years in prison -nothing wrong with that.
Then they showed a thing about a dude from brazil who hooked up with a 13 year old girl on the internet. They had sex and then he strangled her and dumped her in a river. This dude only got 13 years (or so, i don't remember exactly) in prison. I normally don't curse but WTF???

Somebody on TV was arguing that this woman shouldn't get more than the Texas woman who repeatedly ran over her husband (apparently she got 20 years) - not sure what she'll get, but penalties for such crimes are all over the map it seems...
im not sure where i stand on this. i dont think she intended to kill the guy. i think she panicked and made a bad decision and because of that bad decision the guy died. its horrible but i dont think its the same as intentionally taking someone's life. there needs to be punishment and it should be severe but i dont think she should be put to death or serve life. 20 years sounds about right.

Ok Lawboy, your wife/girlfriend goes shopping at the Mall, as she is walking in the parking garage to get to her car. This dumb bitch hits her with her car. The poor bitch panicks, and picks up your wife/girlfriend's limp, still warm body. She puts the body in the backseat and drives home, NOT a hospital for medical care of your wife/girlfriend. She then calls her other black friends, and tells them that she just hit this Rich Looking White Broad. Her friends, tell not to call the police (anyway this is the BS spin that her Lawyer will tell her to put on it). She is calling her friends as YOUR Wife/Girlfriend lays dying in the backseat of her car. Your wife/girlfriend dies an agonzing death, as she bleeds to death, choking on her own bile and blood, suffering untold pain. Now, you tell me that this BITCH, only deserves 20 years. in your example i agree with you. she would deserve life in prison. but i believe the facts of this case are markedly different. for one, she didnt realize she hit the guy. two, he died during the nighttime when she was sleeping inside the home. three, her panic and cover up acts occurred after the guy had died. thus, other than the initial hit, nothing she intentionally did caused his death. this is basically a hit and run where the driver was high on something and didnt know if he hit something. the jury gave her 50 years.... sounds about right. she will be eligible for parole in 25.
if i have any of the facts wrong, please let me know. and actually, i might have recalled some of them incorrectly now that i think about it. how could the jury find her guilty of murder if she didnt intentionally kill the guy? maybe he didnt die while she was sleeping. maybe they didnt believe her that she was so high that she didnt notice him in her windshield. i will defer to the jury and stand on their wisdom. 50 years is a good sentence.
