Athletes that never lived up to expectations?

With all the USC talk lately, reminded me of a USC Basketball Player that was insane, so good his nickname was Baby Jordan!
I haven't played against too many guys that were as explosive on Offense, or as athletic. And a great guy to top it off.

Harold Minor

I can't remember what position he was drafted, but I believe it was Lottery.
He's one of those players that always made me ask "How did he NOT make good in the NBA"?

Anyone else remember him?

Who else you got?

In college football, John Capoletti, won the Heisman, played for the Rams, did nothing.

How 'bout Sam Bowie who was drafted ahead of Michael Jordan.

Ryan Leaf... What an embarassment for us Cougs. He did get us to the Rose Bowl. I love that RB shirt!

Decent list, but I don't agree with about half of it.

When I was in College I used to play against Randy White in the off season. He was an average role player type. I never thought much about it, until I saw he was a top 10 pick!
I don't think that was his fault, That's bad scouting!

Shawn Bradley, NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE thought he was going to be a superstar, but he's lasted a LONG time in the NBA. I consider his career a success for his abilities.

Mark Macon, yes he flopped. Big time! What a machine in college, what a bust in the league.

As a Bears fan, Cade McKown (aka Cade McClown), Rasham Salam (pot head) and Mr. Durable (Curtis Enis) come to mind

Lots of good ones mentioned here!

How about the soon to be Steve Francis falling off the grid and bombing hard!?

Also, do to injury we can add Grant Hill to the list!

Lawboy?

Ron, there is not a Charger fan around that would not agree that trading Eli for Rivers and the draft pick that got us Merriman was the best deal in sports. Now the worst deal was Ryan Leaf.

Tony Mandrich. My Packers I think had the 2nd pick in the draft that year. They chose Tony Mandrich who didn't amount to shit. Barry Sanders was drafted 3rd by the Lions. What a blown opportunity by the Packers.

The QB class of 1999 was touted as the best class of QB's since the 1983 draft (Marino, Elway, Kelly, etc).

1. Tim Couch
2. Donovan McNabb
3. Akili Smith
11. Duante Culpepper
12. Cade McNown
50. Shaun King

True, even though I am a Wisconsin alum I agree. He may have kicked ass in college and won the heisman, but he hasn't amounted to shit in the NFL.
