to those that have lifts, need help!!!

just ordered a revolutionlift for the garage and i need to take the existing craftsman door opener and have it raised up closer or removed from the door altogether if clearence becomes an issue. my ceiling is 11 ft so i have the room to go up but currently the opener hangs at 8 ft high. I need at least on section of track for each side of the door (they look to be 3-4 feet each, which should allow me to mount everything a few feet higher to make the room for the car when up in the air. QUESTION IS, WHERE DO I BUY THESE THINGS. i called sears, NO LUCK. Home depots site only shows replacement pullies and springs, and I really cant see me paying a guy that installs garage openers to come do it when it looks like a 20 minute job if i had the damn parts. where can i buy these tracks at. thanks.

Garage Door

I recently had a Revolution lift installed and had the same problem, except my roof is much shorter.

I purchased a Lift Master residential jackshaft that attached to the torsion bar on the side of the garage door. I then had the folks that installed the jackshaft raise the garage door tracks about 6 inches to get me closer to the ceiling. It took them a couple of hours to get all this done, was not a quick fix.

I know you don't want to have a garage door company come do the install, but I am sure they would have the parts.

I would also look at this site, has lots of info as well: ww.garagejournal.com

I just put a lift in and paid a garage door company here in DE $250 to add the track which included the labor. It may not cost you as much as you think. But then again, I know you're looking for a steal.
