Ms. Griffith has sparked outrage after being photographed lighting her 17-year-old daughter Dakota's cigarette in Los Angeles. The legal age for smoking in the United States is 18.
The pair was spotted outside trendy Beverly Hills boutique Maxfield Wednesday taking a smoking break. Griffith was seen with a lit cigarette hanging out of her mouth, and she was using a lighter to help her daughter spark up her own cigarette.
I'm with Chuck on this. In the grand scheme of things in life and how horrible some parents are out there, this ranks way down on my list of poor motherhood.
I'm not condoning encouraging your daughter to smoke, since I'm not a smoker and I don't like seeing kids do it, but there are a lot worse things that parents do to their kids out there.
A 17 year old daughter of a celebrity is going to do whatever they want and anyone trying to convince them otherwise will just drive them more into that rebellion.
