Welcome to United Arlines *cough*HELL*cough* - My name is Akbindarsukaramad.

Well - when I checked H in online last night at 10 PM - the 6 AM flight was shown ON TIME. However, this morning - after getting up at 4 fucking AM (not a morning person), showering, getting dressed, taking dogs out, etc. the flight shows a 7:36 departure for "crew". Most likely - the crew was a late arrival last night and needs to wait the minimum time between flights. My guess is that it's at least 8 hours and the fuckers should have known this last night.

So..... he won't make his AA connection in ORD. So - United decides to rebook him ON A 3 PM FLIGHT so he'd be sitting in the damn airport all day. I don't think so.

So - between calls to the travel agent, a trip to the airport to see if he can make the flight to dallas and then on to Cali, a return trip home, and a return trip to the airport for a Delta flight to SLC. he's on his way. (Away from all the work, I might add)

But wait - my work continues.

3 fucking phone calls to United's stellar helpdesk in India. They can't refund the ticket because he's already checked in. I can't "uncheck" him in because I am driving all over Christ's creation back and forth to the airport and I won't be home before the flight leaves. So - they put me on hold -and then tell me there is no supervisor online - but call online support.

Call online support - at least they are US based - and they ask for the flight number / record locator that I DO NOT HAVE becuase the traveler actually took his itinerary with him - so they won't help me. I threaten them and suddenly they can find his flight. And 'uncheck' him in.

So - now I have to call back to India. They cancel the first leg - but can't see the rebooked flight. What's the record locator? Don't have.

Come back home - still can't see the rebooked ticket.

Call the travel agent - they can't see the rebooked ticket and United says we have to deal with American to canX that leg - but - if they rebooked - that should have already been done? Each airline is blaming the other - no one wants to refund, they are trying to charge me fees. etc. I am about 1 Red Bull away from postal.

H is about 1 leg of the trip away from his exec platinum status on American - I swear - every freaking time he flies UNited - they are LATE or they Cancel - it's just not worth it. And - the helpcenter in India didn't exactly help - esp with no availability of a supervisor. Never again.

That sucks...

I had similar problems with American West, and them not wanting to tell the passengers what was going on.

All in All I ended up ONLY being 6 hrs late (at one point I was 10hrs late).

Needless to say American West is not worth their horrible customer service.

I am hoping the trip back home goes slightly easier.

It seems every flight I take through Houston ends in me wanting to ring someones neck.

After yet another run to my flight this evening I have vowed-not sure this is going to work out-no more flights that connect through Houston.

Mind you I am lucky enough to travel 2-3 weeks per month. Probably not going to happen but shit does it rain every day in H-town? Or only on the days I have to travel through?
