I have an '05 Hemi Jeep which hauls ass. I test drove an SRT Jeep and it was killer, completely different them my Hemi. Lowered, aero package, Bilstein shocks 20" wheels, not really an off road vehicle anymore but hauls ass, jumps off the line with the 4wd. I have one on order at MSRP, they wanted $10K over sticker for the test drive Jeep. For some reason it is only class III rated towing (3,500 lbs) while my Hemi is class IV rated at 6,500 lbs.
well hurry and get it, they have to sell them for employee pricing right now. go to jeep.com and search, they can not deny you ep. I think the 3500lb shit is because of the hitch that runs around the exaust, ill put 3" dumps on it and have a real hitch if need be.
btw, today was the first day of EP so look fast, they may try and tell you that the srt jeeps dont qualify but they are lying, only the 07s and the 06 ram srt-10s dont qualify
I purchased a new 05 Grand Cherokee 4x4 Limited about 5 months ago for $15k less than sticker and they had 2 SRT's that were selling for less than sticker also. I almost went for a black one they had, they would have sold it to me for $4k off sticker, but I couldn't pass up the deal on the 05. I traded in a 2000 Grand Cherokee 4x4 Limited and like that one much better. Interior is much nicer, power is close to the Hemi and the seats in the old are much better than the new.

Picked up a red SRT-8 from Mike Robbins at Ringgold Dodge last Thursday (well actually Mike dropped it and an SRT-10 off in my driveway, which was even better). Obviously everyone likes the Viper, but the rest of my family can't stop talking about the Jeep. It doesn't look like any other Jeep on the road with all the ground effects, 20's, etc., and it accelerates, handles and stops better than most sports cars.
As noted it isn't for offroad and you may have a problem if you need to tow things, but if you want an SUV to haul people, stuff and the german shepherd around, and kill off a few unsuspecting hot rods on the way, it rocks!

What dealer out in Vegas? I'll be out there in the next week or 2, I'm sure they'll take my '05 Hemi as a trade in. I won't take black though, what was the color of the other one?
Really? My 2001 Grand Cherokee V8 4x4 kinda sucked, the seats especially sucked. The power form the 4.7 is no where near the power from my 5.7 now (especially towing). This is my 5th Jeep GC since the 1996 model year.

I think it is the suspension. I am looking at those also because we need something to pull our boat. Our RamSRT/10 rc 6spd is not suppose to tow anything. Let me know how you like your hemi jeep we might just go that route.

The Hemi I have now (5.7) althought rated at 6,500 lbs. tows more. The Durango with the same motor and drive train along with the same "tow package" (extra trans, oil & diff. coolers) tows 9,500, I think they limit the weight because of the shorter wheelbase. I've towed 8K lbs. no problem 300 miles to Vegas in the desert heat and up & down steep grades.
Vten, I have seen some hitch applications on the SRT Forums..
RedGTS , Mike is a Great guy to deal with.. Glad you bought the red one
as I just picked this one up from him a couple of weeks ago..
LOVE IT !!! I traded in my SRT rc Ram truck.... It was fun
and got looks and ran ok but damn this thing would hand it it's ass
and gets even more looks.... (people wondering wtf it is...)
If any of you guy's are in the market I would highly recommend one!!!

Love the silver Ripper. You hit the nail on the head with "people wondering wtf it is." That's exactly how I would describe it so far. People aren't used to seeing an SUV with ground effects 4" off the ground etc. Of course they aren't used to seeing it pull on their muscle car either.

Very True!!!!!
Love seeing the looks when I rocket this thing from a dead stop
when the light turns green
Vten,
Here's a couple of pics of hitches I have seen so far....
Im not a fan of either.....
There again I didnt buy this to tow anything although it is capable.
I would certainly not want to move the exhaust.... It just looks
too cool where it is in the factory location...

It's definately gonna be my 6th Grand Cherokee since '96, it's about that time had my Hemi since Dec. '04
