This old dude raced bikes into his 70s and is still fast , he rides a crotch rocket on the street and can whip most of the kids on Sunday morning in the hills around Lake Travis. I was riding with him about 10 years ago on an old closed down race track that we broke into and he crashed at about 60 mph and got up, brushed himself off and cruised back home with minor road rash like it was no big deal. He wanted me to take a picture of him with the first bike that he ever owned , a 1950s Velocette.

That's cool to see that old timer still doing his thing.
He sounds like a cool guy to hang out with at an old desert bar out in the sticks, and throw back some Shirley Temples.
Mike sweet pictures and great taste in old bikes. I had a 72 550 Honda in 73 and 74. Then in 76 I moved into the last Z900. Back then the big was incredible. My dad said to me it has 5 gears, but why. Times stock were 12.5. The 73 was actually faster by a few tenths.
I think I am going to have come Texas. We have family in Ft. Worth and then there is my buddy Ripper who I need to go hang with again.
I heard everything was bigger and better and I am starting to believe this shit now.

About motorcycle racers, what ever happened to Kevin Schwantz? He was also from Texas.
Kevin is a friend of mine , I raced against him for years before he went on to be 500cc world Champ in 1993 ,(Moto GP now). His first road race was here in Austin ,(1983) back when we blocked the public roads off for Aqua Fest like they do at the Isle of Mann. The guy was insane at speed. He teaches a road race school now at Road Atlanta and still has the millions that he made from Suzuki......

He did take my regional #1 plate from me for one year before moving on to Europe, lol ..............but I got it back........
I loved watching Kevin , Doohan, Lawson, and Randy M duke it out at Laguna Seca Raceway. And the 500cc 2 strokes were just awesome. BTW thanks for that link.
