CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — The phrase "you lucky dog" takes on new meaning in Coral Springs, Fla.Michael Rubin took his 6-month-old golden retriever, Jasmine, and his border collie Frisbee, for a run near a construction site Monday. The puppy ran ahead of Rubin to the edge of a pond.
Rubin heard the dog cry. When he went to check on her, he saw the puppy's head inside an alligator's mouth. Rubin jumped in the water and started beating the gator with his fist. The reptile refused to let go and started rolling in the water with the dog still in its mouth.
Rubin estimated the gator was about 7-feet long.
He eventually pried the dog loose and rushed her to a nearby animal hospital, where she was treated for cuts and puncture wounds. He said the puppy is at home Monday and doing fine.

I saw this on the news today, congrats to the owner, the 6 month old Golden looked in good condition
Amazing. Imagine how much time it takes for him to hear the cry .. run over .. find his dog .. and the croc havent dragged that puppy underwater already.
Most dog owner would do exactly what he did, but it doesnt mean its not stupid. That croc could have easily been 14ft or 20ft and he could have been its next meal.
That said, I can only hope I could do the same thing for my puppy if she's ever in a similar situation.
I love my dog, I really do. But my girl knows that when we see a snake, she damn well better keep up or she's staying behind. I am not sure what the deal is, but we have seen 2 copperheads and one big bull snake in the past 3 months. And that's in the middle of damn Round Rock, not the boonies!
I saw that on the news last night. Tough situation and the pets owner had some big balls to jump in. They were both lucky and I tip my hat to him for his act of bravery in the face of death. Yes in the face of death because the gator could have easily released his grip on the dog and then could have pulled him under.
Only a Pet Lover would understand why he saved his puppy from the jaws of death

A good snake is a dead snake. On that note, catch one of the copperheads and bring it to A.R.T. Cody needs a copperhead to go along with the rattler.

I could do that, but my parts driver might not take kindly to it..."Yo Charles, as long as you be taking that part to DW, can you bring this for Cody?"
