If I could stand before Congress what would I say?
Would I go into a lengthy discussion on my opinions about various subjects? Would I try to point out things in this country that I feel is in need of change? Nope.
I would ask one question. Right before Congress decides to meet, I would like to open the session with a simple question.
Why is it that Congress, who shape our society, is taking the time and money out to even bring up the subject of why illegal aliens should be given the same rights, benefits, protections, and opportunities as I do?
The simple act that they are taking the time to debate this is an utter slap in the face in every American citizen. I'd be better off if every Congressman came to my house and spit on my face.
Another thing I'd like to add. If illegal aliens are given the same rights as I, it won't be long before they get MORE rights than I.
How long before illegal aliens, once given the same rights, are declared a minority (despite their growing numbers)? Just being labeled as an illegal alien who is grandfathered into standard American rights will soon result with them also being able to obtain special financial aid, funding for starting their own businesses, tax breaks, and any other benefits one can obtain in life by being of a specific group.
Having started up my own business 4 years ago as well as being a young white citizen, obtaining any form of financial funding or benefits from any source of government as well as private foundations during that time was non-existant. However, I did get the unfortunate chance to see exactly how much funding and help is provided to people in both minority classes as well as people from out of the country.
Wealthy Republican Party Donators make money from them.
Wealthy Democratic Party Donators make money from them.
As long as folks are making money from them I doubt seriously anyone is going to care about you. Unless you are willing/able to contribute more. Anyways they know even if they come to your home and spit in your face you will still vote for them.
I couldn't possibly side with a party which has the following stance:
Pornography
Pornography, at best, is a distortion of the true nature of sex created by God for the procreative union between one man and one woman in the holy bonds of matrimony, and at worst, is a destructive element of society resulting in significant and real emotional, physical, spiritual and financial costs to individuals, families and communities. We call on our local, state and federal governments to uphold our cherished First Amendment right to free speech by vigorously enforcing our laws against obscenity to maintain a degree of separation between that which is truly speech and that which only seeks to distort and destroy.
With the advent of the Internet and the benevolent neglect of the previous administrations, the pornography industry enjoyed uninhibited growth and expansion until the point today that we live in a sex-saturated society where almost nothing remains untainted by its perversion. While we believe in the responsibility of the individual and corporate entities to regulate themselves, we also believe that our collective representative body we call government plays a vital role in establishing and maintaining the highest level of decency in our community standards.
Not that they don't have other good ideas, but common! Supporting this would mean getting rid of my favorite passtime.

Porn. The new favorite American passtime!
Missed that. These guys have a fundamental lack of understanding of the First Amendment. Porn is protected speech. Incitement to civil war is not.

Congress should quit pandering to both sides and enforce the laws we have on the books!
I'd probably ask why they think people are so stupid that they don't question why Congress gives away $30B to large oil companies as part of the Cheney "energy bill". And now they talk about taking less than 10% of it back as part of a profits windfall tax?
Or is it just that they know people are that stupid ...

Mike M
It's all talk. Nobody in Congress will take back a damn thing from the oil companies.
