" Ben Glisan Jr., a former Enron treasurer who earned a $1 million return on a $5,800 investment "
No insider trading going on there, huh?
"The latest charges against CFO Andrew Fastow include allegations that he knew Enron's financial health was a facade as he sold $18.1 million in stock from March to November 2000. They also allege he reported income of $61.1 million on tax forms over four years — ranging from $1.2 million in 1997 to $48.5 million in 2000 — when he earned more."
I wonder how busy the IRS is gonna be for the next few years?

Yeah, no shit, I heard GW personally intervened with the investigation and actually called off the IRS dogs for Fastow. Man, GW is shiftless. Stupid too! I mean, how in the hell did he think he could get away with getting his Enron buddies off the hook without Michael Pierce finding out. DUH!

Well, I was just pointing out the obvious. Ever been to Enron headquarters? Downtown Houston - Bush country. I dont blame Bush (or Clinton) for the criminal behavior at Enron - I'd like to see more forceful enfcorcement from this administration. Just like Whitewater was Clintontown.
Why hasnt Kenneth Lay been called to answer for his oversight of Enron? Maybe Bush hasnt stalled it directly, but you can bet that the people in the poorly run Justice Deptartment are taking extra care when dealing with Bush's inner circle.
Heck, I'm no lawyer - and maybe there are reasons - but in Houston its no secret who the Bush friend's are, eh Kenny-boy?
Re: A couple more that need to go to jail for 20 years.
Bush can't even keep his own niece out of jail. The deal with Enron/Worldcom legislation is that there isn't a real clear set of codes that were broken. Corporate governance, or the lack thereof, is the root error here.
Let's all get our learn on and ditch the tin foil hats, m'kay?

Actually, I've spent alot of time in Houston. Event spent some time in the upper floors of Enron headquarters discussing financial arrangements to fund some deals.
About the Bush daughters - whats up with that? Secret Service couldnt run interference with the local police? I dont get that one.
Heck, you're probably right.
I did read where they are going after Fastows wife - thats gotta hurt.
Watching Martha right now wondering why she hasnt been fined either.

Actually, while GH lives in Houston, GW was more involved in business in DFW. A wig in the Texas Rangers organization, GW's big success was in DFW getting The Ball Park at Arlington built. GW's foray into the petroleum business was out in the Permian Basin where Biggs lives and GW was NOT a success in those endeavors. No doubt it's easy to pigeonhole GW as a crook since Enron was in Texas. While we're at it, let's blame Clinton for Cendent, Worldcomm, and the Global Crossing debacles. And hell, what about all the .bombers? That happened under Clinton's watch and his veep invented the internet so if we give Slick and Algore credit for the rise of the internet, let's be sure we give them blame for it's fall.
Ain't it easy sitting back and blaming people for bad things. Kinda fun too!

Actually, I wasnt blaming Bush for the troubles at Enron. I was suggesting that the administration has the appearence of moving very slowly in this case while the smaller fish seem to be busted and tried in no time.
Might be our shitty Justice Department - might be what Scheuy said - hell, Clinton's buddies seemed to get a free ride for a long time, too.

Nothing about Bush being to blame. Just a reference to the fact that these people are still "out" while others are "in".
Then why make the "not too subtle" mention of GW when talking about the crooks at Enron????? Sounds like guilt by association by linking them in the same sentance.
